“Women Conference 2008“ on
Wednesday, April 9 to Friday,
April 11, at 7:30 nightly and on
Saturday, April 12 beginning at
10 a.m.
The theme is “Stepping Into
Your Dream" and is hosted by
apostle Carol Patman and co

Against Hunger
Warren Chapel and Mt. Pleasant
CME Church are partnering
with a Community Network of
Friends in a community effort to
fight against hunger.
Food will be distributed on
Thursdays between 6 and 7:30
p.m. at Warren Chapel.

Youth Of Antioch
UMC To Sponsor
Chicken-Que
The Youth of Antioch United
Methodist Church will sponsor
a Chicken-Que on Saturday, May
24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held at the
Nicholson Fire Hall, which
is adjacent to the Benton
Elementary School.
Tickets are $6 per plate, eat in
or take out.
Proceeds will go to benefit the
Camp Glisson Fund for Antioch’s
youth.

Madison Street Baptist Church,
Commerce, will hold a rally
Sunday, April 20 at 6 p.m.
The guest speaker will be
Howard Conine, senior pastor, of
New Covenant Worship Center,
Athens.
“Pastor Conine is a popular con
ference speaker and his church
experienced 'Revival for over
two years," said church leaders.

pre-revival rally
Pastor Jerry Varnado will be the
special pre-revival rally speaker
Sunday, April 13, at 6 p.m. at
Madison Street Baptist Church,
Commerce.
The pre-revival rally is in prepa
ration for the spring revival April
27 - 30.
Pastor Varnado has been
a world-class athlete and then
became an attorney with Fortson,
Bentley and Griffith. After the
death of his daughter and his
best friend, he responded to the
call of the ministry and has been
pastor of the Gateway Methodist
Church since 1985. According
to church leaders, “He is a role
model for many in his ability to
reach people through his minis
try and his ability to live his life
joyously despite the setbacks he
has suffered. His messages are
stirring and uplifting."

singing Friday, April 11, at 2 p.m.

Yard Sale Planned
Cabin Creek Baptist Church
will have a unique yard sale on
Saturday, April 19. All items at
the yard sale will be free and free

3-On-3 Basketball
Tournament April 26
A 3-on-3 Basketball
Tournament is being sponsored
by Glory Baptist Church on
Saturday, April 26, at the Banks
County Recreation Department
Gymnasium. Games begin at 9
a.m. but all teams are asked to
arrive by 8:45 a.m. Age brackets
are 12 to 15, 16 to 29 and 30 and
above.
Registration is $40 per per team
and all proceeds go to the Banks
County Relay for Fife. Deadline
for applications is Wednesday,
April 23.
