Third Grade Dawg Fans
The third and fourth grade students at Commerce Elementary
School who met their fifth six weeks Accelerated Reader goal
were rewarded with a visit from Hairy Dawg, Mascot for the
University of Georgia, and Jenny, a UGA cheerleader. Each
student had a picture made with them and was treated with
cupcakes and a drink. Left to right are third graders (front) Caleb

Dawggone Good Readers

Learn About The Importance Of Soil
Garrison Briggs, Colby Rogers and Haley Horn, students in
the kindergarten class of Cynthia Gregg and Beth McWilliams at
Commerce Primary School, examine soil brought in by students.
This concludes the unit that was studied about rocks and soil.
The children observed and compared the different colors and
textures of soil. They learned why soil is important and wrote
about soil in their journals.
