Tip From Sheriffs Office Leads
To Arrest, Seizure Of Narcotics
Following up on a tip from
the Jackson County Sheriff’s
Office, the Commerce Police
Department arrested a
Commerce woman on multiple
drug violations.
Amy Storey Spielman, of 1255
South Elm Street, Apartment

Xanax, misdemeanor posses
sion of marijuana, possession
of a tool for the commission of
a crime, possession of a firearm
by a convicted felon and pos
session of a firearm during the
commission of a crime.
According to the arrest report,
one of the city’s investigators
received information from
Jackson County that a large
amount of drugs, possibly weap
ons and stolen merchandise
were at the location. Police also
learned that a man for whom
they had an arrest warrant was
supposedly at the residence, so
they knocked on the door and
asked for him.
The report said Spielman
opened the door and allowed
them in to search for the sus
pect. Upon opening a large
cabinet, the officers found what
they believed to be metham
phetamine smoking pipes, so
they got a search warrant and
searched the rest of the apart
ment.
The report said police found
several bags of suspected meth
and two bottles of pills pre
scribed to other people in her
pocketbook, found more pipes
in the bedroom, along with
more bags of meth, a small bag
of marijuana, two small bags
containing ecstasy tablets and
more pills, along with a loaded
.38 revolver and a variety of
plastic bags commonly used in
the sale of drugs.
The pills were later identified
as soma, hydrocodone and
Xanax, and the officer reported
that Spielman had an extensive
criminal history.
The officers did not find the
suspect for whom they had the
warrant.
