Jackson Deputies Report Making 43 Arrests During Past Week
JEFFERSON - The Jackson
County Sheriffs Office reported
43 arrests last week, including the
following:

no proof of insurance, remov
ing or affixing license place to
conceal the identify of a vehicle,
DUI, theft by receiving, cancelled
vehicle registration, driving an un
registered vehicle and failure to
maintain a lane.

Police Respond To 2,411
Calls For Service In May
The Commerce Police Depart
ment responded to 2,411 calls
for service during May.
Those calls resulted in the fil
ing of 26 accident reports, 117
incident reports and a total of
303 arrests or citations.
The charges include 90 for
speeding, 19 for driving with
out a license, seven for driving
without insurance, 12 for drunk
driving and 31 seat belt or child
restraint violations.
They also include 16 theft-re
lated charges and two drug ar
rests, one a misdemeanor and
one a felony.
The department also seized
two vehicles, a .38 caliber pistol
and $2,461 in currency.
The animal control officer re
sponded to 53 animal control
reports during May.
Meanwhile, the Commerce
Fire Department was called out
32 times.
It responded to three structual
fires, two vehicle fires, one brush
fire and seven wrecks during the
month.
