Virginia Waters
Virginia Fove Waters, 87, of
Maysville, died Saturday, June 14,
2008, at her residence, following
a period of declining health.
She was born November 5,1920,
in Faurens, S.C., the daughter of
the late Earl Futher and Ola Sue
Owings Fove. She was a retired
insurance clerk and a member
of Oconee Baptist Church. Mrs.
Waters was preceded in death by
a sister, Dorothy Fove Jones.
Survivors include daughters

She was born on May 15, 1949,
the daughter of the late Rev.
Elmer Fee and Futrelle Patterson

Danielsville.
She was a pro
fessional gospel
singer travel
ing extensively
on the east coast from Prince
Edward Island, Canada, to the
Florida Keys and as far west as
Illinois. Many were blessed and
touched by her songs and sto
rytelling in concert and will be
missed by all, loved ones added.
Survivors include her husband
of 33 years, Feo G.J. Muise; a
daughter, Finda Muise, Auburn;
sons, David Muise, Costa Rica,
Michael Muise, Auburn, Maine,
and Marc Muise, Tampa, Fla.;
granddaughters, Christina and
Morgan Kirk, Auburn; sisters
and brothers-in-laws, Donna and

'Don' Cox
Donald “Don” Cox, 68 of
Winder, died Saturday, June 14,
2008, at his residence.
A native of Roanoke County,
Va., he was the son of the late
Jack and Hazel Campbell Cox.
A former resident of Gwinnett
County, he had resided in Barrow
County for the past eight years.
He was a retired carpenter and
a member of Red Hill Baptist
Church of Roanoke, Va. Mr. Cox
was preceded in death by his
wife, Barbara McGee Cox.
Survivors include children
and spouse, Maria Holbrook,
Sissy Rowland, Carla Wagner,
all of Winder, Hope Thompson-
McDowell, Hoschton, Karen
Archer, Commerce, Ricky and
Joy Phillips, Buford; sisters,
Florence Gray, Roanoke, Va., and

Dean Nix Fordham, 78, of
Athens, died Friday, June 13,
2008.
Born in Jackson County, she
was the daughter of the late
Charlie W. and Fillie Barrett Nix.
She was a retired dental hygienist
and a member of the Church of
the Nations in Athens.
Survivors include her husband,
Walter Joe Fordham, Athens;
daughter, Finda Davis, Hartwell;
sisters, Mayrelle Duke, Dorothy
Doster, Annie Phillips, all of
Jefferson, Pansy Ward, Covington;
brothers, Billy Nix, Commerce,
Donald Nix, Snellville; grandchil

Jewel Elizabeth Odom, 71, of
Nicholson, died Thursday, June
12, 2008.
She was born on August 15,
1936, in Rockdale County, the
daughter of the late Ore Fee
and Fena Shelton McCullough.
She was a nurse’s assistant and
attended the Nicholson Baptist
Church. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Ronald C.
Odom.
Survivors include children and

lowing an extended illness.

Ernest Crowe and Edna Duncan
Eberhardt. She was a member
of Central Baptist Church and
was retired from Dixie Bearing
Company.

lung cancer.

the Clarkesville First Presbyterian
Church. She was a homemaker and
was formerly the manager of the
women’s department of K-Mart,
was also formerly employed with
the Helendorf Inn, Morrison’s
Cafeteria, Piccadilly Cafeteria,
Davis Brothers’ Cafeteria and S
& S Cafeteria.
Survivors include her husband,

Ruth White
Ruth Gee White, 89, died
Tuesday, June 17, 2008, following
an extended illness.
She was born on June 23, 1918,
the daughter of the late Homer
and Eula Mae Brooks Gee. Mrs.
White was preceded in death
by her husband, John Quinton
White; brother and sister, Nolan
Gee and Grace Truelove. She was
a faithful member of The First
Baptist Church of Commerce
and of the Berean Sunday School
Class. She worked at Harmony
Grove Mill in Commerce and was
an agent for American Family
Fife Insurance Company.
She was a loving daughter,
wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and sister. She has
touched the hearts of many in
her long life and her love and the
memories of her will linger in all
our hearts forever, loved ones
stated.
