Graduate From Piedmont College
Jackson County Students
Named As GHP Nominees
Seventeen students from East Jackson Comprehensive High
School and Jackson County Comprehensive High School have
been named as 2009 Governor’s Honors Program nominees from
Jackson County. Students who are selected at the state level in
January and February will attend the program this summer on the
campus of Valdosta State University.

The Governor’s Honors
Program is a six-week
summer instructional pro
gram designed to provide
intellectually gifted and
artistically talented high
school students challeng
ing and enriching educa
tional opportunities not
usually available during
the regular school year.
Activities are designed
to provide each partici
pant with opportunities to
acquire the skills, knowl
edge and attitudes to
become independent, life
long learners.
The Georgia Governor’s
Honors Program is fully-
funded by the Georgia
General Assembly, and
operates at no cost to the
participant.
