lost their jobs recently as
a result of the downturn
in the economy. There are
many more in the local
community who have lost
their jobs as well. The
church has responded by
adding this page."

Hull, women’s enrichment
ministry will host a ladies
evening out entitled “This
is My Story" Saturday, Feb.
21.
The event will include
worship, drama and stories
of healing, deliverance and
redemption from ladies of
the church.
Appetizers will be served
at 5:30 p.m. with the event
beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Homer United
Methodist Church will
hold the following events:
Saturday, Feb. 21, from
9 to 11 a.m. Angel Food
Ministries food boxes will
be distributed in the fellow
ship hall.
Food orders will be filled
and reserved orders may
be picked up.
Sunday, Feb. 22, at 11
a.m. “One Great Hour of
Singing."
The choir and congre
gation will sing old-time
hymns and special music
will be provided by the
choir and others.
Church pastor, the Rev.
Jim McLendon, will speak
on the subject “What A
Friend," (St. Mark 2:1 -
12).
The 9 a.m. service will
not be held.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, from
6 to 8 p.m. the United
Methodist men’s annual
pancake supper in the fel
lowship hall.
The cost will be $5 for
pancakes and all the trim
mings for dine-in or take
out.
Pancakes will be all-you-
can-eat.
Tickets are available
through church members
or may be purchased at the
door.
Proceeds will benefit
local projects throughout
the year.

the corner of Sycamore
and Church Streets, one
block east of Veterans
Memorial Park.
Maysville Methodist
Church will host singer
Betty Jean Robinson
Saturday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.
and Sunday, Feb. 22, at 11
a.m.
Betty Robinson has her
own television program
“Up On Melody Mountain"
which airs weekly on The
Church Channel (TCC).
She also ministers in
churches and auditoriums
across the U.S. as well as
in other countries.
There will be no charge
for the singing.
On Saturday barbeque
and stew will be served in
the church fellowship hall
from 12 to 5 p.m.
Dine in or take out.
Everyone is invited to

The guest speakers will

The theme is “The Role of
the Man" and churches are
asked to bring their male
choirs.
Redeemed Baptist
Church, Commerce, will
host the following singing
groups: on Sunday, Feb. 22,
at 10:30 a.m., “Georgia;" on
Sunday, March 15, at 10:30
a.m., “The Atkins Family"
and Sunday, April 26, at
5:30 p.m., “The Lambdins."

Church’s youth group
will go on a winter retreat
Friday through Sunday,
February 27 - March 1, for
Bible study and fellowship
in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
There will be an out
ing on Saturday to Ober
Gatlinburg to ski or to
snow tube.
The group will also be a
part of a community ser
vice project sponsored by
World Vision called “Hoops
of Hope."
The money raised will
benefit orphaned children
in Africa.
It’ll be a great project,
leaders state.

The group will also sell
Krispy Kreme certificates
for $5 per dozen.
There is no expiration
date on the certificate.
Profits will help defray
the costs of the winter
retreat.
The Youth Group is look
ing for community service
projects.
