Fourth graders with 'pink bunny'
Fourth graders from Banks County Elementary School are shown with Josh White, the school resource
officer. White dressed as a pink bunny for the day after the community met his challenge to raise $1,000
for the Shop With A Hero program. The program provided Christmas gifts for area children. Law enforce
ment officers went shopping with the children at a special event, which also included a breakfast.
Craft-time at library
The Banks County Public Library ended the first
season of 3-5 Crazy 8 Math club with a special
get-together. The event included reading, orna
ment making and bingo.
Erica's 5K for Education set
Doug and Cathy Ashley
will be sponsoring a 5k Run
in memory of their daughter,
Erica, on Sunday, January 22,
at Jefferson Middle School,
located at 100 Dragon Drive,
Jefferson.
A fun run will be held at
2 p.m. and the 5k will be at
2:30 p.m.
Proceeds will go towards
educational scholarships.
Erica Ashley Lemus was
an honor graduate of Jeffer
son High School and the Uni
versity of Georgia. She was
a teacher for Easter Seals
Program in Winder. She was
a wife and the mother of a
3-year-old daughter.
