Free Course on Coping with Mental Illness
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Statesboro will offer
its free and well-known Family-to-Family Education course begin
ning Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Pittman Park
United Methodist Church, 1102 Fair Road in Statesboro. This out
standing and informative course helps family members, friends and

ity in America, and estimates are that one in five persons are affected.
Surprisingly, few people understand the deep stigma and misunder

these diseases, and help friends and family members understand the
unique challenges of living with someone with a brain disorder.
The Family-to-Family course is a free, 11 -week, science-based class
designed to help participants understand and support there loved one
while maintaining their own well-being. Call to reserve a place in the
class. Participants must register to attend. To sign up for the class or
for more information, call Coussons at (912) 531-6629 or Roberts at
