Eagles outlast Panthers

The Jenkins County Eagles
took out their frustration from a
season opening loss on Portal
this past Friday.
The Eagles, 1-1, defeated the
Panthers, 13-8 and captured their
first win of the season. Although
the Eagles failed to put any
points on the scoreboard during
the second, third and fourth
quarters, their two touchdowns
in the first quarter sealed the
game.
Quarterback Will Brinson
completed a 64-yard touchdown
pass to Jay Bowers, giving the
Eagles an early lead. Dondre
DeJesus followed with a 3-yard
rush up the middle for a touch
down, widening their lead.

Panthers to just 2 points during
the first half and 6 during the

Brooke is a 2004 graduate
of Edmund Burke Academy.
She graduated cum laude
from Valdosta State Univer
sity in 2008 with a degree in
Communication Sciences and
Disorders. She will receive
her master’s degree in
Speech-Language Pathology
in December 2009.
The bridegroom-elect is the
grandson of the late Mr. and
Mrs. William R. Chance, Sr.,
of Alexander and Mrs.
Carolyn Hamilton and the late
William L. Hamilton of
Sardis.
Josh is a 2004 graduate of
Edmund Burke Academy. He
studied Environmental Horti
culture at Augusta Technical
College and graduated with
honors in 2009. He is cur
rently attending Georgia
Southern University pursing a
degree in Business Manage
ment. He is employed by
