nnd after tho passage of this Ordinnncoit shall
not be lawful lor any cow, calf, bull or ox to be
nt large nt night upon any of the streets or
squares within the limits of tho city of Bruns
wick, and it is hereby made the duty of any of
ficer of said city who shall find any such cattle
so nt large within said limits to impound said
cow, calf, bull or ox so found at largo inThe city
bound; after which it shall bo tho duty of the
Marshal to notify uloneu nnd in writing tne own
er thereof, if to bo found, of such impounding,
amt such owner may thereupon redeem the same
u|)on tho payment of ono dollar per. head for
each cow, calf, bull or ox so impounded, nnd the
same upon tho payment of such feo or penalty
shall then be released from said pound.
Sue 2d. Beit in liko manner further ordained,
nnd It is hereby, that If any such cow, calf, bull
or ox, having been so impounded ns authorized
preceding section, shall remain in said pound
unclaimed by its owner for n period of twenty-
four hours, after having been so impounded as
aforesaid, tlieu it shall lie tlie duty of theMnr-
shnl of sntd city to advertise the cattle so im-
potindcd ns for sale, by written advertisement
posted n*. threo of the most public places in said
city, describing plainly the property to be sold,
which advertisement shall be made not less than
three days prior to the date of making such sale,

law for the making of Marshal sales in said city;
