THE LUMPKIN PALLADIUM.
PROSPECTt S FOlt 185!).
rjlHlS paper, edited by Dr. .1, C. C. BLACKIiunN,
A and published weekly, at Lumpkin, On., from
and after ’the first of January m;xt, will receive con
siderable improvement as to size aud appearance.
The polities of the Palladium svill not bo chan
ged. It wilt ever remain, so long as it is under the
coutrol of the present proprietor, a fearless and in
dependent advocate of SOUTHERN RIGHTS.
One side of the Palladium will be devoted ex
clusively to SOUTIIRUN LITERATURE.
There will be a Ladles’ Department connected
with the Palladium, which will contain, Weekly,
ft brief revision of fashions, useful, domestic mid
culinary receipts, and every thing else which can, in
any wise, benefit, ftnmtnvor interest its fair readers.
This, as well as the Literary department, will be
under tho editorial control of u Southern lady.
The news department of the Palladium will be
ample, giving a detail of every thing strange, new
er interesting, to every reader. It has been remark
ed, with some degree of truth, that tho newspapers
•f the Bouth, and especially of Georgia, pay more
attention to advertisements tfian to reading matter;
and amid the universal dearth off news this’ has be
come a general complaint. The Palladium de
aigua to obviate this defect: fur while all advertise-1
went* with which it may be honored will meet with
prompt attention, the editorial and reading depart
ments shall receive their due amount of care, tliuh
rendering it one of the most useful and instructive
papers published at the South
“Remodelled and dr* ssed*iu au entirely new dross,
TJhe Palladium wsl be emphatically tht put for
all cla*ei<, anduo labor or effort on tHc part of the
proprietor will be spared to make It equal to the ex
jieetotiou* of its patrons and friend*, the proprie
tor would earnestly appeal to the present subscri
ber* of the Palladium to aid him in enlarging the
eireiilation of the same, feelipg confident that he
will be enabled to give them in return a paper of
which they will be justly proud. A newspaper is,!
indeed, the miracle of modem times, with its bul
letin; of news, ft is hit epitome of the , world's
typed” and as sneb. should be liberally patronized.-
To sum up, the Palladium tkall be just as good a
weekly paper as can be gotten up.
