THE DAILY UNION.
Til L PROPRIETORS of the Federal Union will
issue a daily paper duringthe approaching ses

Seat of Government, especially during the sittings
of the Legislature, is a public want, which we are
determined to supply, if we are not to suffer’ too
much in pocket, by the experiment. Such an enter
prise cannot be carried on without ninnev. To the
public, then we appeal for support. The'llaily Fed

respects save the amount of reading matter similar
to the Weekly Federal Union. It will contain ab

day, and of such debates as may be of general im
portance. It will also contain late Telegraphic In
telligence, the state of the markets, Ae. The price
of the paper for the session will be one dollar, to be
paid in advance.
We want all those who feel interested and are
willing to assist us in this enterprise, to inform us at
once what number of copies they will subscribe for
so that we can at as early a dav as possible, deter
mine whether we will publish a Daily. No money
will be required until we receive names, and deter
mine whether we can be sustained in its publica

Our Terms are so low thatevery ninn who cares to
now what his public servants are doing, may keep
himself thoroughly posted.
Send in your names by the twenty-fifth day wf Oc

THE LUMPKIN PALLADIUM.
PROSPECT IS FOR 1859.
THIS paper,.edited by l)r. J. C. C. Bi.ackbi un,
and published weekly, at Lumpkin, Ga„ from
and after the first of January next, will receive con
siderable improvement as to size and appearance.
The politics of the Palladium will not be chan
ged. It will ever remain, so long as it is under the
control of the present proprietor, afearless and in
dependent advocate of SOUTHERN RIGHTS.
One side of the Palladium will be devoted ex
clusively to Southern Literature.
There will be a Ladies’ Department connected
with the Palladium, which will contain, weekly,
a brief revision of fashions, useful, domestic and
culinary receipts, and every thing else which eau, jn
any wise, benefit, amuse,or interest its fair readers.
This, as well as the Literary department, will be
under the editorial control of a Southern Itulv.
The news department of the PALLADIUM will be
ample,'giving a detail of everything strange, new
or interesting, to every reader. It has been remark
ed, with some degree of truth, that the newspapers
of the South, and especially of Georgia, pay more
attention to advertisements than to reading matter;
and amid the universal dearth of news this has be
come a general complaint. The Palladium de
signs to obviate this defect; for while all advertise
ments with which It may be honored will meet with
prompt attention, the editorial and reading depart
incuts shall receive their due amount of care, thus
rendering it one of the most useful and instructive
papers published at the South ‘ . ...
Remodelled and dressed in an entirely new dress,
The Palladium will be emphatically the paper for
all classes, and no labor or effort on the part of the
proprietor will he spared to make it equal to the ex
pectations of its patrons and friends. The proprie
tor would earnestly appeal to the present subscri
bers of the Palladium to aid him in enlarging the
circulation of the same, feeling confident that he
will he enabled to ghve them iu return a paper of
which they will be justly proud. A newspaper is,
indeetr, the miracle of modern times, with its bul
letin of news. It is an epitome Os the world's
struggles, strifes and passions, faithfully dnguerreo
typed; and as such should be liberally patronized.—
To sum up, the Palladium shall be just as good a
weehlv paper as can be gotten up,

This is to certify that I have been in the habit of
using Dr. McELVEEN’S PILLS, for soma two or
three years, and can say, so fur as iriy experience
has been with them, that I would prefer them to all
other patent Pills. For Sick or Nervuns Headache
I have often used them, and as yet, haTe never been

For Colds, alia Headache arising therefrom, I do
highly prize them. DRURY RAMBO.
Above you have certificates from gentlemen of
undoubted veracity, aud those who have had the
pleasure of their acquaints nee, will not for am*

To those who (so I am informed) have, through
prejudice, endeavored to injure the sale of m, Pills,
I will merely state, that I have known peraons
equally as smart as they are, that, when they attend
ed mil to their own business, had a plenty to do.
The Pills are put forth upon their ow n iutriniic su

despit(Bff all opposition. They are very carefully
prep&iw’from the purest medicines .of their class,
and perfectly innocent in their action or effect*.—
No danger whatever from exposure, so far as th*
