A printer not long ago being “flung”
by his swee heart, went to the office and
tried to commit suicide with the “shoot
ing stick,” but the thing wouldn’t “go
off.” The “devil wishing to pacify him
told him to peep into the sanctum where
the editor was writing duns to delin
quent subscribers. He did so, and the
effect was magical. He says that pic
ture of despair reconciled him to his fate.

The meeting of the Chattanooga citv
council, Tuesday night, wound up in a
disgraceful row, so says the News.
The Chattanooga Evening News is
the name of a paper recently started in
H*a4~pfry. The News is printed at the
very low price of ten cents per week. It
stands square up to its motto: “Little
But Lively,” and is, in every sense of
the word, a neat and nobby little sheet
