NEW YORK STOCK MARKET
New York.—After a morning of ex
ceptionally sow trading and Insignif
icant price changes on the stock ex
change some shorts displayed uneaslneas
on publication of the crop figures ami
their buying carried prices another
fraction upward.
St. Paul, Northern Pacific, Southern
Pacific, Canadian Pacific and Interna
tional Harvester were the strongest Is
sues.
During the morning holders of stocks
were not affected by prevailing depres
sion of speculative sentiment, but un
certainty ct the outlook effectually pre
vented extensive buying. The trading
element had abandoned efforts to put up
prices owing to a revival of liquidation
in stocks of companies undergoing re
organization or facing other financial
difficulties.
