GEORGIA TROOPS

Adj’t Gen’l Says Mobilization,
If Needed for Mexico Would
be at Fort M’Pherson.
Atlanta, Ga, —While there Is nothing
yet that ha* been taken by the mili
tary men here to mean that the militia
will he needed In Mexico, the adju
tant general’* office Is discussing the
probable course that thing* would
take In the event the mtlltla should
be called on.
The flr*t step, It I* understood, would
be the mobilisation of all the Georgia
troop* by Adjutant General Nash at
Fort McPherson. Thl* would mean
the assembling In Atlanta of 3,000 to
S,OOO member* of the state troop*,
of whom only the fifth regiment, about
700 men, would come from Atlanta.
The troop* would remain at Fort Mc-
Pherson until mustered Into actual
service; they would he trained, and
transferred to a concentration camp,
perhaps also to ho located In Geor
gia.
Discussing the situation today, Gen
eral Nash said:
"McPherson Is practically vacant at
thl* time anil Is Ideally located and
arranged for u mobilization camp. The
men would he allowed, beside their
regular pay as soldiers of the United
Mates. 75 cents per day a* a. ration
allowance. They would remain at Mc-
Pherson until they were drilled and
the greenness rubbed off.
"The state troops are now In fine
shape for domestic service, and it
would not take long to get them com
pletely ready for foreign service.'’

A Nation-Wide Service
CTATE lines do not limit the service of the Bell Telephone.
Bell Telephone, wherever located, is an open door
to practically unlimited service. Many Bell Telephones are on
isolated farms or ranches. Each Bell Telephone, wherever lo
cated, is connected with an exchange which opens the door of
communication with the whole country.
It makes no difference whether the exchange group is large
or small, because through connected Bell exchanges each Bell
Telephone has a radius of communication which includes every
other Bell Telephone within speaking distance.
