After Intimating in his talk to
the Augusta Motor Club Monday
evening that a big hotel and re
sort development was about to be
consummated near Augusta, James
U. Jackson, In a talk to the Au
gusta Rotary Club Tuesday after
noon, revealed that plans had been
completed for building a tourist
hotel, polo grounds, aviation field,
golf courses, and other attractions
on the old North Augusta Land
Company's property about six miles
from Augusta on tho line of the
Augusta-Alken Railway. The tract
of land embraces about 4,000 acres.
Real estate of tho North Augusta
Land Company, according to Mr.
Jackson, has been turined over to
Benjamin H. Marshall, Chicago
architect and financier, who will
direct the development and who will
serve as chairman of the board of
directors of the new company. Tho
hotel. Mr. Jackson pointed out, will
have around 600 rooms, and the en
tire development, when completed,
will cost In the neighborhood of
five millions of dollrj j.

Mr. Jackson told the Rotarians, and
there is nothing to hinder the pro
ject going forward with the great
est dispatch.
Mr. Jackson told the club that
the consvmmation of this great pro
ject has come after an effort on
his part extending over a period of
3 years. With but 10 minutes to
speak, he said it would be Impos
sible to tell even a small part of
the story. He did relate how a rail
road accident, which confined him
to his home for two months, Inter
fered on one occasion with the con
summation of the project; how, in
