PLANE roe FAIR
PROGRESS NELL
First Amusement, Contraet.
Signed Other Features
Under Consideration.
The directors of the Georgia-Caro
llna Fair association are now making
definite plans for the fair which will
be held in Augusta the first week
In November, and at their meeting
Friday night signed up the first con
tract for the new season. This was
for an open air free attraction and
(he feature will be aerial performers,
said to be (ho most daring in exist
ence. Other attractions of like char
acter are planned and as soon as
Secretary Frank E. Beane secures the
terms they will pass upon them.
Chairman C. D. Garrett, of the
amusement and privilege committee,
outlined his plan for automobile day.
and while he could not give the di
rectors Information in the wav of
prizes, he advised them that quite a
large sum would be needed, but that
he felt sure It would bo a good in
vestment.
The farmers clubs throughout the
Savannah valley are preparing for
the fair and those in charge of the
work declare that the displays which
will ho made will be (he best ever
seen in this section of the country.
The livestock feature of the fair
lias not received much attention up
to date, but it is understood that lids
will be much belter than 11 has ever
been, as farmers in this section are
now devoting much lime to Ibis
branch of farming.
