Little Charley, the four year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Griffith,
of Temple, Ga., passed quietly
away last Thursday night. The
little fellow had suffered some
time with measles and in cennec
tiom with measles took pneumonia.
The two discases baffled the skill
of the physicians and released his
gpirit from eacthly ties and it fled
to God who gave it. While we
extend our'heartfelt sympathy to

their Joss is Heaven's gain.

1 The Power of Money.
-~ what an influence for good or
evil ig ‘exerted by the proper or
‘emproper use of money. It seemes
to be the first essential of modern
life. Sad indeed is the Jot of that
man or that woman without mon
ey and without friends. Espe
cially in case of sickngss is the
need of money felt most pressing
ly, and yet even the rich with all
there money fall into a state of
poore health and die, whereas if
theirmoney was rightly expended
and the proper remedies applied
they might regain health and
strength. . :
Z. A Clatk, Atlanta, Ga., says:
“I spent four hundred and eighty
dollars in gold to cure me cf terri
ble blood poison that affecied my
limbs and nose and body, with
running ulcers. One month’s
treatment of B B B heald the ul
cers, restord my appetite,
strengthened my kidneys and ad
ded 21 pounds to weight.” .
Still, in spite of this and much
other testimony there are many
who refuse to try the remedy,
seeming to prefer to pay large
fees to physiciaus, or visit distant
springs in vain hopes of recovery.
The great truth however, ever
shines brightly and’ that ie, that
no one who ever gave B BB (Bo
tauic Blood Balm a trial ever
found disappointment therein.
0. H. Rudolph, Talladega, Fla.,
writes: ‘I had blood disease for
six years, but, nothing benefited
me, although 1 paid two hundred
and fifty dollars for treatment:
At last I tride B B B and found it
a quick and cheap blood purifier.

LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE, -
Howme, Near Fisn, Ga,, Jone 23, 1890- |
Messrs, Paul B, Trammell, W. B- 8. Da.
vis, H. D. Huteheson, Committee, {
GENTLEMEN:—I am_just in receipt of ]
yonr eommunication'\nforming me of the
Rome Convention on 15th instant in pre
senting my name to the Democracy of the
7th Qongressional District as g suitable
candidate to reprvesent said Distriet in
the 52d Congress and ask my aceeptance.
Candoz compels me to say that the pn-i
litcal outlouk at present is by no means
encourageing, and that uponthe slm.ping{
of legislation for the next few years
hinges, not our prosperity only, but our
existance as a free and endipendant peo
ple. All republican government should
e “hy thepeople, of the people and for
the people.”” The tendency of legisla
| tion for a quater of a century has been to.
foist upon the country a plutoeracy, that
‘banefnl Upas under whose shade more
than one republic has languished and
weakened and died. The prosperity of a
coantry if not measured by its wealth, but
by an equitable distribution of its wealth.
Loylty to a country’s institutions, and
that chivalrie, self-saerificing spirit
which causes the masses. to bare their
breasts to the storm of battle, and ren
der a ready and willing obedience to a
country’s call in time of invasion or of
peril, can be secured and maintained
only by such legislation as will insnre
““equal vights to all and special privilog
es to none.”’ .
To this end we should demand,
Ist. 'The repeal or radical modifica
tion of the existing banking system of
the * United States—gigaunticr Anaconda
of oppression within whose fatal folds
thousand are annually being entwined,
in the vain effort to satisfy its insatiable
greed.
2d. That the unwarranted exwavagance
which chdracterized every department
of government should be summarily sup
pressed, and that the people should he
taxed only to sapport an economical and
judicious administration.
3d. That such laws be enacted as will
prevent specunlation to interfere with the
price of the prime necessities of life.
4th, ’_[:hat a volume of curency be is_
sued in sufficient amount, as when suple
mented by the gold and silver cireulation
shall suffice to do the buisiness of the
country on a cash hasis.
. The foregoing are some of the principal
reform essential to the peace, prosperity f
and perpetuity of oar republic, and to
their accomplishment I pledge whatever
of energy and talent a beneficent Prov
idence has endowed me with. 1
Yore expression of confidence and es
teem, gentlemen, challenges my grate |
ful acfinowled%e;ments and commands

high regards, lam, |
Very trul&yours, : ‘
