PATENT MEDICINES.
A Bill Presented in the Alabama
Legislature.
Montgomery, Ala, Dec. 10,—A
ill was introduced into the Alaba
ma bout* of representatives by Mr
Whitten, of Lowndes, during the
past weak, which has J brought
protest already from every part
of the country.
It is to prohibit the sale in this
State of patent medicines when the
bottles or boxes containing them
fail to have printed on thorn the
formula of the contents. The pat
ent modiciuo men argue that they
will bo compelled to withdraw their
goods from the state if the bill
passes, as they cannot afford to dis.
close their formulas. Lobbists
against the bill are already on the
ground. Tho measure appear to
meet with considerable favor in
the house.

Springfield, O. Deo. 10.—Sheriff
J. D Kirts, of Volusia county,Fla.

Week before last Ashley married

Ashley was formerly in Dr. Gra.
