Now, farmers, plant plenty of

What bas become of Everlyn
Nesbitt Thaw? It hasbeen quite
awhile since we hive seen any
thing in the papers about her.
I' It is strange, but nevertheless
true, that a doctor’s bill and-a
newspaper bill are the two last
bills the average citizen
ever thioky of paying, when

¥ Col. Will Fryer, of the Doug
las Enterprise, is giving the peo
ple of Dquglas and Coffee coan
ty a firgt-class weekly paper, and
he is receiving in return for his
good work a splendid patronage.
We have known Will since his
boyhood days, and we certainly
do wish him well in his every
undertaking,
It is said that the reason that
Douglas is sosuccessful in se
curing railroad shops, colleges,
and other things that has helped
this town grow, is that thelead
ing citizens of the place get to
gether, pull together, and when
efer money or the donation of
land is needed to bring an enter
.pris therey they give both freely.
And this i 8 why Douglas has out
rivaled all her neighboring towns
lately in growth. It takes money
%0 do business of any kind,
If you are wise, you will have
your deeds recorded without
much delay., Judge Parker
touched on this poiny last Weeks
it his chayge to the grand jury.
You don’t kijow what time you
might die, after which yoar fam
ily is liable to get beat out of the
home you have made for
them, because you neglected to
have your deeds recorded. Bet-,
ter not put this matter off; take
your deeds tu the clerk of the
Superior Court and let him re
cord them. It will not cost you
much.

course of conyersation with some
prospective buyer—to tell him
that you believe that Hazlehurst

; We have got a good town, and
‘plenty of uncultivated rich land
surrounding it. What we need
most now, is more good farmers
in Jeff Davis county, and we can
surely get them if the land
owners of the county will put
the price of their land down at
reasonable figures.
