Crystal River Florida,
] .
We lger.t last Saturday and
part of Sunday down at Crystal
River, Fla, Itis said that when
a fellow once drinks some ol the
water boiling up from thet chain
of beautiful springs, that maike
Crystal River, he ever afterward
has & longing in his heart o re
turn to that place. Let “this be
as it may, we know full well that
when a person once tishes in that
stream that he will resurn to it
some other day, if possible.
We spent four very happy
years of our life at this place,
and left many friends there
whom we were delighted to meet
and mingle with again. We
were treated royally during our
recent short stay there.
~ Itis pleasant to go back to =2
place where you had once lived,
and to have the entire population
of the town to accord yeu a warm
welcome, down to the litie tots.
Crystal River wouldn’t look
righy without Col, Nic Barca,
grund and good old Dr. Bennett,
C. B Berrick, Gillman and Joe
Williams, Newt Sparkman, Jim
Rawls: R, J. and Will Knight,
Herman Miller, Clarlie Miller,
Ballard, Judge Hay. Thesc old
timers are still there prospering.
And Cutler, the ice man; is there
yet, as enterprising and’ hustling
as QveEr, _'
You may scour Florida over,
and you will not find a better
class of people, or mere enter:
prising, then you wil' in this
town. S .
Crystal. River was onge a very
sickly place, but itis sow a very
healthy tcwn. 'The eity council
has bada great dealef work done
in the place during the past two
years., Ithes been cleanod up
dreaned and put in a fine sani
tary condition. The Docters
say that the place is alarmingly
healthy, and that it shquld be
advertized €3 a sanitariumg’
This town has a population of
about 2000, aand is growing right
along. The Dixen Ceoder Co.
employs many hands, and the
basket and crate factory have
been forced to doudle their
canacity. y
The fish and oyster industreis
there are so™ething immeénse.
They pay out several thousand
dollars every. month to theéir
fishermen, wkich is spent iz the
town. : ;

‘“his hustling town will soon
have another railroad. The Sea
board is brilding & new line from
some pointabove thera to Tampa
passing right through that town.
Yes, its elways a great pleas

that beautiful stream that the
town taizes its name from. And
we expect to drop down there
