solely for a support. All were industrious,
frugal and temperate. The shock to the

Gonh Home. -General Davia Tillaon, of il
lustrious memory in these parts, -whose name
is eonueeted in the minds of many unfortunate
negroes in tills county, whose certain sums of
lour dollars, or multiplies thereof, confidingly
paid over to him for imaginary acres of land in
Southwestern Georgia, which they never got,
neither received back the said most tangible
sums of four dollars, etc., nor any part there
of—this General Davis Tillson, who, after his
retirement from the service of his country,
bonght, with a sum made up of very many small
: sums, perhaps of four dollars and multiplies
thereof, n large and valuable rice and cotton
plantation, twenty miles below Savannah, on
the waters ot Sappello sound, and thereupon
eultlvated crops with free labor, controlled to
great advantage by him, under his prestige as
Freedman’s Dure.au, thumb tier, chain ana ball
man, etc.—tills same General Davis Tilson has

Rockland Maine.
Whether his noble confrere in the four dollar
business, Wallace, a person of color. Is still

has departed to Maine, and there lie will, no

PURIFY YOUR BLOOD!
Burley’s Sarsaparilla.
Os all the medicines that have been discovered dur
ing the present ago for the “ thousand ills that flesh is
heir to,” none equal this wonderfu preparation. Only
ten years have elapsed Since the discoverer (who spent
a decade in studying experiments, and prefecting it)
llrst introduced it to the public, and it is already re
cognized by the most eminent physicians in all parts
of the country, to bo the most surprising and effective
remedy for certain diseases of which they have ac
knowledge.
All other Oomiionnds or Byrups of this root have
hitherto failed to command tlie sanction of the Fucul
ty, because on being tested, they have been found to
contain noxious ingredients, which neutralize the good
effects of the Sarsaparilla, and olLmiUiues Injure the
health of the patient. It Is not so with HURLEY’S
preparation.
This is the pure and genuine extract of tlie root., and
and will, on trial, be fonnd to effect a certain and tier

Affections of the Bones, Habitual Costiveness
