MARSHALL'S MAGICAL PAIN
ERADICATOR.
Dalton, March 15, 1851.
JVlessrs. W. H. & J. Turpin. —Gentlemen.—l
hope you will excuse the intrusion of these few
lines, as I am not personally acquainted with you,
and besides am an entire stranger in your city.
I am constrained, however, to trespass on your
kind indulgence, and say something in behalf of
"Marshall’s Magical Pain Eradicator.”
Such a medicine as this compound should be
widely known, and had I the gift of tongues and
the power, I would not hesitate to proclaim its
praises in the streets and on the house tops—as it
is, I speak fearlessly to ali and every one. My
case was indeed a painful one, and 1 did despair
of ever getting cured, having tried physicians and
nostrums till I have gotten almost impoverished.
Rheumatism in my back is what I labored unoer,
but thank God, by the application of your Pain
Eradicator, I have got entirely well, and perfectly
able to attend to my usual duties. If this public
acknowledgement is of any service to you in ex
tending the leputa'ion and value of thL prepara
tion you are liberty to use it as you may. Hoping
you all the success it so richly deserves, I remain
most respectfully \ours. THUS. DUNN.
Such letters and verba! assurances, we arc re
ceiving constantly. The originals can be seen by
those who are desirous, at the store of the Pro
prietor-.

U*BLISS’S COMPOUND COD LIVER
OIL CANI)Y.-—An eminent English physician,
writing of the use of Cod Liver Oil, says he ob
served, that in a few days the cough was miti
gated, expectoration diminished in quantity and
opacity, t e night sweats ceased the pulse became
slower and of belter volume, and the appetite,
flesh and strength gradually improved. Now these
are high commendations, but our limited experi
ence teaches us that they are not undeserved. —
Bliss’s Compound Cod Liver Oil Candy unites all
the good qualities ot the oil, as above enumerated,
to an agreeable taste and pleasant odor. It is an
invaluable medicine 3 but our friends in purchas
ing it, mu?t be on the look-out for counterfeits.

CO I TON.—There has been but few sales made
to-day, and those at a reduction of 4 cent. Some

CHARLESTON, April 25. Cotton.—' There
was a comparatively good demand lor this article
just prior to the date of our last publication, and
the we k closed n a firm market, with Fair
quoted at ll£c., the arrival subsequently, how
ever, of later and anfavorable advices from abroad,
have depiessed the market, and prices it will be
see., have suffered a material reduction. The
Pacific’s accounts reached us about noon on the
18th inst., hut as it was Good Friday, the transac
tions w re limited to some £OO bales. Several
buyers were in attendance on Saturday claiming
a concession in prices, but as sellers generally re
fused to submit to their d m nds, the day passed
off very quiet y, only 600 bales having be n sold.
These otters were renewed on Mem ay, with only
partial success, and at t e close of business on
that da) 7 prices exhibited a downward tendency
-ales 1200 hales. The market throughout Tues
day and Wednesday wore a languid and drooping
aj pearance. Ihe operations during these two
days were rather under 1500 bales, and at. toe
close of the mai ket on the latter day, a full 4c. re
duction was established on the prices sold at the
close ot the previous weet. Thus stood the posi
tion of affairs, when the trade were put in posses
sion of the advices brought over by the steamer

reached v rv nearly 1200 bales at a further con

ATLANTA, April 24.— Cotton.-—' The transac

CHATTANOOGA, April 23.—Considerable ac

in despatching the large amount of merchandize
now coming up the Railroad.
Cotton. — We were in error last week in placing
the probable amount of Cotton received at this
port the present season,at 25,000 bales. A more
careful examination shows that only about 18,000
bales have been received up to this time; aud the
aggregate amount lo the whole season, including
what has been brought in on wagons will not ex

up small lots. „

NORTH AMERICAN
ELECTRIC WASHING FLUID,
For washing in hard or soft water.
THIS is the only genuine article to be found
in the world ; and possesses double the pow
er of any thing ever discovered for washing
clothes, at a trifling expense, doing away with
wash boards at once. In fact, it seems to be the
long sought Phi osopher’s Stone, or universal sol
vent ; seeming a magical preparation, its opera
tion being of the most astonishing character. A
common sized wash’ng may be done with one gill
of this Fluid, in less than two hours. Is softens
and removes the dirt, leaving the articles of the
most brilliant whiteness. It being as harmless in
its operations as pure water, and clothing will
wear mueh longer than when i übbed to pieces by
the common method of washing.
This Fluid is a powerful agent, to be used in all
cases wheie soap is required, partieular'y for
cleansing milk utensils, cleaning windows and
paint, scouring floors; in short, it is beyond a pre
cedent, as its use is universal in the washing world.
