Mr. R. E, Sellers, —It is faun a sense of duty, as well
ns with great pleasure, that l hear testimony to the vir
tucofyour justly celebrated Vermifuge. 1 procured a
ingle bottle and gave it to three of inv children, w ho
had been ill for several weeks. The oldest was seven
years old, the next four, and the youngest eighteen
months. The first passed filly-sir. worms, the second
lorty-seven, and the third a considerable number not
distinctly reroMecied. Mince then they have been do

Mr U E Sellers: —Dear sir: Your Vermifnge produces
such wonderful results, that / think it worth while tb
ive voiii a few facts about it. A neighbor, Dr Gray,
bought from rue one vial of it, and gave the contents io
three of his children; the first passed 180, the second
15.1, and the third 70, making 403 worms discharged
ly using one vial. Mr Gray immediately bought four
vials more. Mr. J M’Shurley also gave the contents
of one vial to three of his children, which brought
from the first 73, from the second 51, and from the third
3>, making 150 worms by the use of one vial. I gave
my own child, aged one year, two tcaspoonfttls, which
expelled 14, one of which was at least one foot long.—
Your Vermifuge is considered the. best that has evet
been brought to our section of country, and so far as I
know, has never failed.

ANOTHER SCIENTIFIC WONDER!
Great cute for
Dyspepsia!
Hr. J. Houghton's PEPSIN, Ike true
Digestive Fluid, or Gastric Juice,
prepared from RENNET, or
the fourth Stomach of Ihe
Ox, after directions
oj Baron Liebig,
Ihe great
Physiological Chemist
by J. S. Houghton, M. D. Philadelphia.
This is truly a wondrful remedy for Indigestion, dys
pepsia , jaundice, liver complaint, constipation, and de
bility, curing after nature’s own met boil, by natures own
agent, the (Gastric Juice. {Kr Half a teaspoonful of
Pepsin, infuseddn water, will digest or dissolve fivepouds
of roast beef in about two hours, out of the stomach.
Pepsin is the chief element or great digestive princi
ple of the Gastric juice—the solvent of the food, the
purifying, preserving, and stimulating agent of the stom
ach and intestines. It is extracted from the digestive
stomach of the Ox, thus forming an artificial digestive
fluid, precisely like the natural gastic juice in its chemi
cal powers, and furnishing a complete and perfect Substi
tute for it. By the aid of this preparation the pains and
evils of indigestion and dyspepsia are removed, just as
they would be by a healthy stomach. It is doing wonders
for dyspeptics, curing cases of debility, emaciation, ner
vous decline and dyspeptic consumption, supposed to be
on the verge ofthe grave. The scientific upon which it is
bused, is in the highest degree curious and remarkable.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE.
Baron Liebig, in his celebrated work on animal Chem
istry, say*: ‘An artificial digestive fluid analogous ta the
gasi in juice, may be readily prepared from tne tnucous
membrane ofthe stomach ofthe calf in which various ar
ticles of food, as meat and eggs w ill hts softened, changed
ami digested, just in lurmncr $8 they would be
in the (lumah stomach.* **

cures, from all parts ofthe United States.
AS A DYSPESPIA CUREPi
Dr. Ilughton's Pejwun has produced the most marvellous
effects, in curing cases of debility, emaciation, nervous
decline, a.id oyspepticconsumption. It is impossible to
give the details of cases in the limits of this advertise
men;; but an then tickled ci.citoi'tances have been given
of more than ; wo hundred remarkable cures, in Philadel
phia. New York and Boston Mone, These were near
ly all desperate cases, and the cures were not only rapid
and wonderful, lmt permanent.
It is a great ner\ous antidote, and particularly useful
for leuuetiry to Bilikms disorder, liver complaint, lever
stud ague c* badly treated fever aad ague, and the evil
’ Heels of quinine, inenury and other drugs upon the di
gestive organs, after a long sickness. Also, for excess in
eating, and the too free use of ardent spirits. It almost
reconciles health with intemnernnee.
Dr. lloughtop’s Pensin is prepared in powderand in fluid
rom--and in perscription vials for the use of Physicians.
Private circulars, for the use of Physicians, may he
obtained of Dr. Houghton or his Agents, describing
t he w hole process of preparation, and giving the authori
ties upon which the cJaimes of this new remedy are bas

raised against its use by Physicians in respectable stand

<t Arematkable case of Rheumatism and
Fits cured in 3 weeks;
Ball Hill Muscogee Cos. Jan 25, 1852.
Mr: Editor: Sir permit me to commu
nicate to the Afflicted thiough the columns
of your valuable paper tho following facts,
About three months ago my Son Shepherd
aged 22 years was attacked with acuto
Rheumatism in both of his knees which was
so severe that it soon effected his whole sys
tem, and seemed to locate principally, on his
Brain Lungs and heart. The 4th day after
he was attacked he commenced having hard
Fits. 1 immediately called in an eminent
Physician, who treated his case three weeks.
But without benefit, 1 then called in two
more Physicians of the same order (Old
(School) one of whom treated his case two
weeks, still he grew worse, and had from
two to three fits nearly every night. The
Doctors said that bis condition was strange
and cntical, and thpy seemed to he at it loss
to know what to do for him, as the remedies
they prescribed, had no effect towards teliev.,
ing him. And all who saw my Son thought
that he would be certain to die. But just
as I wjis about to relax nil efforts of having
anything more done for him, some person
sent me one of Dr. Rowland’s Circulars, I
examined it and saw that the certificates
were from reliable sources ; and I rpsolved
to haul Shepherd to Dr. R. When we ar-,
rived at the Doctor’s he was just alive and
it was all that could he said, for he was Zjh
duced so much that lie could be compared to
nothing but a living skeleton to use tha
phrase, and at all times he suffered with the
most violent excruciating pains, his mind was
very much effected also. The second day
after Dr. R. Commenced treating his case,
be sloped having fits, and the fifth day ids
pains subsided in a great (legtee, | then
left him under cate of Dr. R. and. returned
home, related to my neighbors the extraor
dinary relief mv Son experienced io so sltor;
a time, many seemed to doubt, and all were
perfectly astonished. lie remained at the
Doctors 3 weeks, and it aflords nte pleasure
to say that 1 believe he has effected a perma-,
nent cure, as Shepherd has had no symptoms
of a relapse in any way for several weeks-.
It is my wish that the above statement he
published so that others laboring under suclt,
and siniiliar diseases ilia v bn benefited alsn
Yours &c. ELIJAH PADGETT.

Dr. Rowland, Sir: I present you tho
following certificate which I hope von will
have published, so that others laboring mi.,
der such diseases may be bcnefitied also.
About two years ago, one of my servants;
(Henry), was severely attacked with spit
ting and vomiting of blood, attended with
bard fils which he had paroxysms of weekly.
1 immediately placed him under the treat
ment of the most eminent Physicians ol the
old school in this section and after treating
his case a long time, they said lie could not
he cured, and was beyond the reach of med
icine. Monty grew worse and had from one
lo two hard fils a week. Spit and vomited
up large quantities of blood. As I consider
ed his case perfectly hopeless for a time, I
bad nothing done for him. Hearing that
you would lake patients a 111 i c ted with chronic
diseases on conditions, 1 resolved to give
you a trial, and to the astonishment of my
self and many others, in three weeks after
I placed Henry under your treatment, here
turned home entirely cured of his disticssing
diseases; he lias been well 3 months and
can do as much hard laborious work as ho
ever could. When I sent Henry to you, I
would have taken a mere trifle (or him, now
1 consider that he is worth S9OO. Persons
afilicted with such or similar diseases, would
do well to give you a trial.
Yours &c., WM. FAULK.
