We doubt if there is another
county in the state that can show
the record of Mitchell. Only two
sheriff 8 sales advertised during
the whole year, neither of which
went to sale.
The stores, especially the toy
stores, were full of people this
week. They were out sight see¬
ing, and of course had some se¬
lected Christmas presents put
aside for them.

The Enterprise regrets to
learn of the illness of Mr. A. B.
Joiner, who is missed from hie
place of business, but hopes that
he may soon be fully recovered
and at his post again.
Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Wood left
for Cairo last Wednesday morn
ing, where they wi'l again make
their home. We regret to loose
them as citizens but wish them
abundant success in their new
home.

Ladies Pleasure Club.
Another of the pleasant social
gatherings which the members
of this growing club enjoy so
much, vvas the one at which Miss
Jennie Butler entertained Wed¬
nesday afternoon, when twenty
two club members and appreci¬
ative friends were her guests.
A vote of thanks is due Miss Su«
sie Spence for instrumental mu¬
sic on this occasion and Mrs.
Clara Twitty, whose vocal selec¬
tions are always listened to with
such rapt attention. At four
o’clock a delicious luncheon of
several courses was served.
These functions, delightfully
informal, are looked forward to
with keen anticipations of pleas¬
ure.
The next regular meeting, fail¬
ing as it would on Wednesday of
the week before Christmas, it
was thought best as every one
would be so busy with other
matters at chat , , time ,. to postpone .
