family to east Mitchell near

Six Marriages in One Week is
the Record.
Never in the history of this
section has there been such an
epidemic of marriages as have
t B ken place during the past
week, in which Mitchell county
furnished one, or both of the con¬
tracting parties. It is evidently
a mark of genuine prosperity
among the people.
We chronicle the marriages of
th 9 !past week as follows:
Richards-Smith.
On December 18th, at the home
of Mr. G. C. Smith, Sr., seven
and athalf miles southwest of Ca¬
milla, Mr. Oscar G. Richards
was married to Miss Priscilla
Smith, Rev. J. R. Blewett officia¬
ting.
Mr. Richards is formerly from
Middle Georgia, but for some
time has been engaged in the
saw mill business in Mitchell
county where he had made many
friends and captured a sweet
bride, in Miss Smith, who is one
of Evergreen’s most estimable
and deserving young ladies. The
groom and his bride will spend
their Christinas in Atlanta.

At 3 o’clock Sunday, Dec. 18th,
at the home of the bride’s pa
rents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Mock, in
Pelham, Rev. J. A. J. Dumas,
pastor of the Baptist church of
that place, pronounced the im¬

M r Cross, is one of Camilla’s
promising young business men,
who is now in the employ of
Messrs. Baggs & Perry, while
his bride is one of Pelham's ac¬
young ladies. The
bridal presents were numerous

Williams-Paimer.
On Sunday afternoon last at
the home of the bride’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. George Palmer,
east of Camilla, Rev. H. N. Bur¬
nett officiating, Mr. B. C. Wil¬
liams and Miss Ida Palmer were
happily married.
The happy couple are among
Mitchell’s most popular young
people and number their friends
and well-wishers by the number
of their acquaintances.

On Wednesday last at the
home of the bride’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Wyatt Adams in east
Mitchell, Rev. H. N. Burnett
performed the ceremony that
united in holy wedlock, Mr. Les¬
ter t,o Miss Pearl Adams.
This popular young couple
have scores of friends through¬
out the county who will wish
them all the sweets of a long and
happy wedded life.

At 4:30 o’clock Wednesday af¬
ternoon, at the home of the
bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
W. T. Jackssn, of Baconton, Rev.
C. T. Clark of Camilla, officia¬
ting, Mr. Joel Eyeone Dean, of
Pretoria, Ga., was married to
Miss Lena Rivers Jackson.
Kolbie--Porter.
On Wednesday last in Bain
bridge, where the bride was vis¬
iting friinds Mr. Charles Au¬
gustus Kolbie, of Camilla, was
married to Miss Dorcas Porter,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. An¬
drew Porter of Pelham.
The happy couple arrived in
Camilla on the 6 o’clock train
Wednesday evening where they
received the congratulations of
their friends.

coming marriage of Mr. George
Byron Baggs of Camilla to Miss
Rose Elizabeth Davis, of Thom
asville. which is to take place at
the brides home in Thomasville
on Wednesday of next week*

Camilla’s most prosperous mer¬
cantile establishments and is
very popular among his home
people while bis bride-to be is
one of Thomasville’s most popu¬
lar young ladies.

was in the city last Sunday as fi¬
nancial agent, of the Macon Pres¬
bytery, for Young’s Eemale Col¬
lege and the Rochelle High
School. While here he was the
guest of Rev. A. MoLauehlin.

Rev. E. S. Atkinson, will fill
his last appo > tment at Sparks,
Ga., on next Sunday, having re¬
signed that charge to accept a
call to the church at Newton, so
as to bring his ministerial work
closer together for another year.
