A Roraatnic Marriage.
Quitman was the scene of a ro¬
mantic wedding on last Sunday,
Miss Dora Brown, of Boston, was
expected to be married to Mr. R.
A. Wheeles, of Pelham, but some¬
times the expected does not hap¬
pen. Early Sunday morning Miss
Brown and Mr. C. C. Kenney, of
Alabama, agreed to not wait for
Mr. Wheeles to arrive and a bug¬
gy was hired and they took the
nearest road to Quitman and were
married there. Mr. Wheeles ar¬
rived in Boston at the time speci
fied In the first agreement with a
brand new marriage license in]
his pocket and learned from the
parents of the bride that she had
made other arrangements. Miss
ANNOUNCEMENT 1905.
By mutual agreement of both members of the firm of The Butler
Bush Company, the said firm will be dissolved on January 1st, 1905,
and will be succeeded hy The Bush Company.
Mr. Charles Marvin Butler will withdraw from the firm, and go
into other fields of labor, and his interest in the firm will be bought
out by other parties, and be continued under the above named firm.
The management of the new firm will be under the direction of
Mr. Ross V. Bush, a member of the present firm ai.d will be con¬
ducted at the same place sf business and upon the same lines of
honest business dealings.
The new firm will be well equipped with competent salesmen, and
will be prepared to treat its customers with the same courtesy and
kindness that the retiring firm has given the public.
Mr. A. O. B-rewton, of Ft. VaEey, Ga„ a young man of three
years experience in the clothing and furnishing goods business will
act as salesman in this line for the new firm, while Mr. Bernard Al¬
len, of this place, will continue witrx the firm, dealing oat the staff
of life to all who eat and Mr. Joe Mayo will continue to pull the bell
cord over Nancy Hanks, delivering packages to the place of thine
abode.
The old firm appreciate and thank the public for the liberality and
courtesy tha-t has bean shown them and can be assured that the new
firm wiii appreciate a continuence of the public patronage.

7,610,525 votes; Parker 5,094,091;
Debs, Socialist, 392,857; Swal¬
low, Prohibitionist, 248,41.1; Wat¬
son, Populist, 124,881; Corregan,
Socialist Labor, 33,519.
Roosevelt’s majority over Par¬
ker was 2,546,434.
In 1896, nearly a decade ago,

try was much less than it is now,

Miss Griggs To Wed.
Invitations have been sent out
announcing the wedding of Miss
Vernal Griggs to Mr. Edgar W.
Hollingsworth. Miss Griggs is
the daughter of Congressman
