Are You an Independent American Citizen ?
During the coming Presidential Campaign, you will read a thousand
appeals to the “Independent Citizens of the United States”.
A man is not independent if he has no money little* saved up, if he must
look to somebody else, every time he needs a cash.
A man is not independent, if his business is in such shape that be
cannot move unless some other man will loan him a little money.
The Fall season is at hand. Put by something in the bank so that
when this time of need conies you will not have to depend upon some other
man for what yon must have.
You may have needed money in the past when you had no way of
getting it—you don’t want this to happen again. Or if you have never been
so unfortunate, don’t let yourself get Don’t in this shape. Keep ahead of the
game. Build up a bank account. put it otf 'till next month, or
next year. DO IT NOW!

Fire Companies Make a
Practice Run.
The regular monthly meeting
of the fire department was held
Tuesday night. After the trans
ct o i of regular business, the
companies made a practice run,
and demonstrated their ability
to get the fire apparatus out and
in working order in an incredibly
short time. The hook and ladder
company got out simultaneously
with the hose companies. Com¬
pany A was the first to get a
stream of water playing. Imme¬
diately a water fight resulted be¬
tween companies A and B, which
had a stream playing within a
few seconds after compauy A.
The water fight was spirited and
caused much merriment to the
onlookers. Company A won in
the first bout, after the man at
the nozzle on the other side had
demonstrated extraordinary pluck
and determination in withstand¬
ing a heavy stream poured direct¬
ly upon them.

done since his connection with it.

QUALITY
When you buy drug store goods remember that their
quality is by far the most important point to consider. If
they are not of reliable quality you had much better leave
them entirely alone even though they were offered to you
as a gift.
QUALITY AND RELIABILITY are the two fundamen¬
tal principles of our store. Upon them we have founded
our stores success and by rigidly adhering to them we
shall continue to deserve this success. Every purchase
you make here is absolutely guaranteed.

Tent Meeting Closed.
The tent meeting which has
been in progress for some weeks
came to a close Sunday night.
In many respects this was the
best meeting ever held in Grady
or Mitchell county.
Visible results were ninety
three accessions to the church,
eighty six of which were on pro¬
fession of faith. More than fifty
people obligated themselves to
take up family prayer and a daily
study of the Word of God. A
number of children were bap¬
tised, and a collection taken for
the erection of a church.
At the last service it was an¬
nounced by the pastor, Rev. P. T.
Holloway that at his next ap
pointmet, he hoped to be able to
preach in the new church. The
preaching in the main at this
meeting was done by Rev. F. A
Ratcliffe, whose home for the
past nine months has been in
city. There are few
evangelists than this plain,
ble plan of God, who daily
