Holloway’s Ointment and Pills, an astonish
ing Remedy for Erysipelas.—Mr Henry 1 urner
of Driver, Maine, was afflicted with Erysipelas,
large purple blotches came on his face and neck
and all parts of his body, and despite of the many
remedicj he tried he was not benefitted. At
length, he had recourse to Holloway’s Ointment
and Pills, and made up his mind to presevere
with these remedies, which he did. The result
was that in a few weeks ho was perfectly cured,
and his general health wonderfully improved.—
This case has created quite a sensation in
Maine.

If health follows the admiration ot a remedy
for disease, almost without exception, though
it is prescribed in a million of instances, and in
all forms of disease, all the doctors on the globe
could not make the people believe that it was not
a good remedy, or that the inventor was not a
public benefactor. Hurley’s sarsaparilla is ex
pressly designed to act on those organs whose
functions are essential to health —the stomach,
liver, lungs, kidneys and skins, restoring their
deranged function or uses, and thereby purifying
and cleansing the blood—the very fountain of
life.— St, Lou. Intelligencer.

OXYGENATED BITTERN.
The annexed Statement of Prof. A. A. HAYES’
M. D., State Assayoj,is ample testimony of the
scientific maun Win which this medicine is
compounded, and recommends it to Profession
al Men, as worthy a fair trial in their prac
tice ;
An opinion having been asked for of me, in
consequence of the formula for preparing Oxy
genated Bitters being known to me, I express the
following, in form :
The composition of these Bitters includes those
medicinal substances which experienced physi
cians have long resorted to for special action on
the system, when deranged byjFevers, Dyspepsia,
Ague#, and General Debility. resulting from ex
posure or climate influence.
These are rendered permanent, aud remain ac-;
five in this preparation, as a consequence of the
scientific manner in which they are combined.
It was a well founded inference, 1 hat the pre
paration, used in larger or smaller doses, would
prove a valuable General Medicine, which expe
rience has demonstrated.
In this medicine, no inetalic salts can be fonnd
by the most delicate-chemical trials.
Respectfulfrf,

Much of the suffering attendant upon the lives
of females isowing to obstruction and irregular
ity of their peculiar seasons, which if not relieved
renders them invalids for life.
Irregular Menstruation, while it is one cause of
the decline of health and beauty, is the principal
cause also ofbarreness. As well might vegeta
tion flourish, robe itself in bloom and bear its gol
den fruit, independent of the genial influence of
sunshine and showers, as that Woman should
wear the bloom of health and fulfil her high des
tiny, while suffering from irregularity in her sea
sons.
The merits of “The Philotoken’’ as a remedy
in ’•female complaints” are of a nature that can
not with piopriety be set forth in an advertise
ment. A pamphlet however accompanies each
bottle, with full particulars, and a single trial is
warranted to prove its efficacy. Heads of fami

servants, will find a remedy in the Philotoken
worthy of their attention.

I PROFESSOR WOOD’S HAIR RE’STOR
ATIVE, isno doubt, the most wonderf
discovery of this ageof progress, foritwill rcstor
[ permanently, gray hair to its original color, cov
er the head of the bald with a most luxuriant
■ growth, remove at once all dandruffanditching,
| cure all scrofula and other cutaneous eruptions.
I such as scald head, etc. It will’cure, as if by
' magic, nervous or periodical headache ; make
; the hair soft, glossy and wavy, and preserve the
i color perfectly, and the hair from falling, to ex-

I The following is from a distinguished member
i of the medical prefession :
St. Paul, January 1, 1855.
! PROFESSOR O. J. WOOD-
DEAR SIR: Unsolicited, I send you this
I certificate. After being nearly hald for a long
I time, and having tried all the hair restoratives
| extant, and having no faith in any, I was induc
| ed, on hearing of yours to give it a trial. I plac
i ed myself in the hands of a barber, and had my
head rubbed with a good stiff brush, and the Re
' ttorative then applied and well rubbed, in till
i the scalp was a glow. 'Phis I repeated every
I morning, and in three weeks the young hair ap
peared, and grew radidly from August last till
[ the present time, and is now thick, black, ami
I strong —soft and pleasant to the tauch ; whereas
l before, it was harsh and wiry, what little there
| was of it. and that little was disappearing very
I rapidly. I still use your restorative about twice
a week, and shall soon have a good and perfect
crop of hair. Now, I had read of these things
—and who has not! but have not seen hitherto
any case where any person’s hair waste
ally benefitted by any of the tonics, etc., of
I the day : and it really gives me pleasure to re
cord the result of my experience. I have re
i commended your preparation to others, and it
l already has a large and general sale throughout
1 the Territory. The jteoplc here know its effects,
and have confidence in ik The supply you sent
us, as wholesale agents for the Territory, is near
ly exhausted, and daily inquiries are made for it.
You deserve croditforyour discovery; and I,for
one, return you my thanks for the benefit it has
done me, for I certainly had despaired long ago of
ever effecting any such result.
Yours, hastily,
, J. W. BOND.

PROFESSOR WOOD-
DEAR SIR: Having made trial of your
HAIR RESTORATIVE, it gives tne pleasure to
say, that its effects have been excellent in removing
inflamation, dandruff, and a constant tendency
to itching, with which I have been troubled from
iny childhood; anti has also restored my hair which
was becoming gray, to its original color, I have
used no other article, with anything like the
same pleasure or profit.
Yours, truly, .1. K. BRAGG.
114 Market st., St, Louis, March 5, 1855,
DEAR SIR ; I am doing an extensive travel in
the West and Southwestern States, as general
agent for Adams American Liniment, and would
be glad if you would favor me with a consignment
of Profesaor Wood’s Hair Restora
tive, as I feel assured that I can introduce it in
many places where it is not known, as my head
is a living testimony of its valuable property, in re
storing the hair to its natural color. 1 am forty
years old, and my hair wns almost white; but after
using three half pint battles, my hair is as beauti
ful auburn as it was at sixteen, and much improv
ed in appearance, and I would not be without a
bottle on hand for the price of ten. I should be
very glad to attend to any matter connected with
the Hair Restorative. I have been for
fifteen years engaged in the same business, and
will be glad to hear from you soon.
Very respectfully,
WM. B. BROOME.
