Why Females Suffer in Health.
THE MARRIED WOMAN’S
Private JHediCftl Compan ion
BY DR. A. M. MAURICEAU,
s'AOGFSSOU <>F DISEASES OF WOMEN.
One Hundreth Edition (SOU,000) linio.pp. 250.
A standard work of established reputation, found class
oil in the catalogues of the great Trade Bales of New
York, Philadelphia, and other cities, and sold by
the principal booksellers in the United States."
Every woman can discover, by' comparing her
own symptoms with those described, the nature,
character arid causeof her com plaint and be spared
much anxiety am] suffering, as well as the unplea
santness oi making known to, or making inquiry
of, a physician in respect to the numberless ail
ments to which she is subject. The wife about
becoming a mother has often need of instruction
and advice in respect to her situation, which she
will here find. This book tells her what to do
for it, in simple but chaste words, and such as
she can understand.
I hose suffering from obstructions or irregular
ities peculiar to the female system, or from
prolapsus uteri (falling of the womb), or from fluor
albus, will each find in its pages the means of
prevention, amelioration, and relief.
Much distress of mind, as well as thousands
pecuniarily, might bo saved to every husband, if
the simplest laws appertaining to the marriaga
state were better understood. That they arc not
better understood is traceable to that natural and
almost commendable sensitiveness that will rath
er suffer, than consult or converse with even a
medical man in respeetto complaint: peculiar to
the female only.
In a copy of “The Married Woman’s Private
Medical Companion,” every female has a phys
ician that knows and describes her every symp
tom, feeling and ailment, and which she can con
sult nt all times without violent to her sensitive
ness.

of things was inevitable, and resigned myself to
meet the worst I heard your book highly spo

A MARVELLOUS REMEDY
HARB MAR VEI.LOU AGB’!
■ - -W
• ‘M:--
HOLLOWAY’S OINTMENT
THE GRAND'XTERNAL REMEDY.
By the aid of a microscope, we see millions f
little openings on the surface of our bodies -
Through these this Ointment, when rubbed on
the skin, is carried to any organ or inward part.
Disease of the Kidneys, disorders of the Liver, af
fections of the heart, Inflamation of the Lungs,
Asthmas, Goughs and Colds, are by its means
effectually cured. Every house-wife knows that
salt passes freely through bone or meat of any
thickness. 'This healing Ointment far more rea
dily penetrates through any bone or fleshy part
of the living body, curing the most dangerous in
ward complaints, that cannot bo reached by other
means.
I ERYSIPELAS, SALT RHEUM & SCOR
BUTIC HUMORS.
No remedy has ever done so much for the cure
of diseases of the Skin whatever form they may
assume, as this Ointment. No case ol Sal
Rheum, Scurvy, Sore Heads, Scrofula or Erysi
pelas, can long withstand its influence. The in
ventor has travelled over many parts of the globe
visiting the principal hospitals, dispensing the
this Ointment, giving advice as to its application
and has, thus been the means of restoring count
less numbers to health.
SORE LEGS, SORE BREASTS, WOUNDS
AND ULCERS.
Some of the most scientific surgeons now rely
soley on the use of this wonderful Ointment,
when having to cope with the worst cases of sores
wounds, ulcers, glandular swellings, and tumors
Professor Holloway has, by command of the Al
lied Governments, dispatched to the hospitals f
the East, large shipments of this Ointment, to be
used under the direction of the Medical Staff, in
the worst cases of wounds. It will cure any ul
cer, glandular swelling, stiffness or contraction
oi the joints, even of 20 years’ standing.
PILES AND FISTULAS.
These and ether similar distressing complaints
can be effectually cured if the Ointment.be well
rubbed over the parts affected and by otherwise
following the printed directions around each pot.
Both. the Ointment and Pills should be used in
the following cases :
Bunions Sore Legs
I Burns Sore Breasts
j Chapped hands Sore heads
I Chilblains Sore throats
, Fistulas Sores of all kinds
| Gout Sprains
Lumbago Scalds
Merciful Eruptions Swelled Glands
Piles Stiff Joints
