Ei.-ry woman can discover, by comparing her
< wu symptoms with those described, the nature,
eha meter and cause ot her complaint and be spared
' much anxiety and sullenng, as well as the unplea
: santness of making known to, or making inquiry
< a phyff t. respect to the numberless ail
' trusts to which she is subject. The wife about
j becoming a mother has often need oi instruction
; and advice in respect to her situation, which she
I will here find. This book tells her what to do
for it, in simple but chaste words, and such as
Ishe can understand.
Those su fieri ng from obstructions or irregular
ities peculiar to the female cysfom, or from
prolapsus uteri (falling of the womb), or from fluor
albus, will each find in its pages the means es
prevention, amelioration, and relief.
Much distress of mind, as well as thousands
pecuniarily, might be saved to every husband, if
the simplest laws appertaining to the marring.!
state were better understood. That they are not
better understood is traceable to that natural and
almost commendable sensitiveness that will rath
er suffer than consult or converse with even a
medical man in respeetto complaints peculiar to
the female only.
In a copy of “The Married Woman’s Private
Medical Companion,” every female has a phys
ician that knows and describes her every symp
tom, feeling and ailment, and which she can con
sult at all times without violent to her sehsitne
ness.
[Extract of a letter from a gentleman in Dayton.]
• Dayton, Ohio, May 1,1847.
Dr A. M. Mauriceau— My Dear Sh — My wife
has been preceptibly sinking for some three years
or more, in consequence of great anguish and
suffering some months before and during confine
ment ; every successive one more and more de
bilitated and prostrated her, putting her life in
imminent danger, nnd which was on the last oc
casion despaired of. I supposed that this state
of things was inevitable, and resigned myself to
meet the worst. I heard your book highly spo
ken of, as containing some matters reaching my
case. On its receipt and perusal I cannot express
to you the relief it afforded my distressed mind,
and the joy its pages imparted to my wife, on
learning that the great discovery of M. M. Des
omcaux provided a remedy. It opened a pros
pect to me which I little conceived was possible.
But for this, ere another year would have passed
over my head, in all human proability my wife
would have been in her grave and my children
left motherless.

HOLLOWAFSOINTMENT-
THE GRAND EXTERNAL REMEDY.
By the aid of a microscope, we see millions 1
ittle openings on the surface of our bodies
Through these this Ointment, when rubbed on
the skin, is carried to any organ or inward part.
Disease of the Kidneys, disordersol the Liver, af
fections of the heart, Intlamation of the Lungs,
Asthmas, Goughs and Colds, are by its means
etlectu ii- ; cured. Every house-wife knows that
salt passes freely through bone or meat of any
thickness. This healing Ointment far more rea
dily penetrates through any bone or fleshy part,
of the living body, erring the most dangerous in
ward complaints, that cannot be reached by other
means.
ERYSIPELAS. SALT RHEUM & SCOR
BUTIC HUMORS.
No remedy has ever done so much for the cure
of diseases of the Skin whatever form they may
assume, as this Ointment. No case of Sal
Rheum, Seurvy, Sore Heads, Scrofula or Eryai
pelas, can long withstand its influence. The in
ventor has travelled over many parts bf the glebe
visiting the principal hospitals, dispensing the
this Ointment, giving advice as to its application
and has, thus been the means of restoring count
less numbers to health.
SORE LEGS, SORE BREASTS, WOUNDS
AND ULCERS.
Some of the most scientific surgeons now rely
soley on the use of this wonderful Ointment,
when having to cope with the worst cases of sores
wounds, ulcers, glandular swellings, and tumors
Professor Holloway has, by command of the A
lied Governments, dispatched to the hospitals f
the East, large shipments of this Ointment, to be
used under the direction of the Medical Staff, in
the worst cases of wounds. It will cure any ul
cer, glandular swelling, stiffiiess or contraction
of the joints, even qf 20 years’ standing.
PILES AND FISTULAS.
These and other similar distressing complaints
can be effectually cured if the Ointment, be well
rubbed over the parts affected and by otherwise
following the printed directions around each pot.
Roth the Ointment and Pills should be used in
the following cases :
Bunions Sore Legs
Burns Sore Breasts
Chapped hands Sore heads
