Nails Creek to
host benefit soon
Nails Creek Baptist Church,
Banks County, will host a ben
efit chicken-que and singing Friday,
July 25.
The benefit is being held to
help with the medical expenses of
Vietnam veteran Ron Baker, who is
battling cancer.
The chicken-que will be from 3 to
7 p.m. with tickets costing $6 each.
Tickets may be purchased at
Lewallen’s grocery, located at the
crossroads of Hwy. 63 and 198.
The singing will start at 7 p.m. and
will feature groups “CS&K” and
“The Eisner Sisters.”

New Salem to host
homecoming Sun.
New Salem United Methodist
Church, Banks County, will host a
homecoming Sunday, July 27, at
11 a.m.
The guest speaker will be former
pastor the Rev. Sky McCracken.
Shelia Parnell will provide special
music.
A covered dish meal will be
served.

Gospel singing to
be held August 2
Community Chapel Church will
host a gospel singing Saturday,
August 2, at 6 p.m.
The featured singers will be
“Danny Ray Bartlett,” “Down To
Earth,” “Jim Scroggs,” “The Peek
Family” and “The Maxwells.”
A covered dish and cake auction
will be held.
All proceeds will go to Brian
Plavcan, to help with his battle of
Lou Gehrig’s disease.
