Jackson County Superintendent, Dr. Shannon Adams, visited Maysville
Elementary School, along with Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Keith Everson,
and Transportation Supervisor, Dennis Patrick, to serve as judges for
Maysville’s Clean and Safe School Poster Contest. Each student in
grades K-5 created a poster to display how the school can be kept clean.
A winner was chosen from each grade level and awarded a Wal Mart gift

Banks County 4-H'ers selling fruit
Banks County 4-H is oranges, tangelos, tanger- boxes from 10 pounds to 40
holdings its annual fruit ines and red grapefruits, pounds,
sale fund-raiser. They will be taking orders Call the Extension Office
4-H’ers will be selling until Monday, November 3. at 706-677-6230 to place
apples, navel oranges, juice They have all sizes of an order.
After reading “The Gingerbread Man” during shared reading, Renee Tootle’s
kindergarten class at Maysville Elementary School mixed, decorated, and
baked their own gingerbread men.

also submit announcements,
such as special events and
learning activities.
Honor rolls and perfect
attendance lists may also be
submitted according to the for
mat preferred by MainStreet
Newspapers.
School news will be pub
lished according to available
space.

Laurie Hitzges (R), a third grade teacher at
Maysville Elementary School, was selected as
an 11 Alive Class Act Teacher. Over 400 nomina
tions each year are submitted, with only 30 Class
Act Teachers chosen for the award. Hitzges and
her students were featured on 11 Alive News.
