[From the Augusta Const, and Republic, 13th.)
Georgia Kail Knud Convent lon.
This body adjourned on Woduesdny after a
very harmonious session of two days, which
seemed to give very general satisfaction to those
present. The memorial of the committee from
Sparta, in relation to the contemplated road
from Warrenton through Sparta to Mliledgeville
and Macon, was after some discussion, referred
to the Board of Directors.
The following Board of Directors was olocted
for the ensuing year :
John P. Kino, President.
Hays Bnvdre, John Bones,
B. 11. Warren, Tho*. N. Hamilton,
Joseph C. Fargo, Elijah E. Jones,
Wm. D. Conyers, Antoine Poullain,
John Cunningham, A. J. Miller,
James W. Davies, Thomas Barrett,
Wm. M. D’Antignao, Paul F. Eve,
Charles Dougherty, Asbury Hull.
Tile SriMlllvc Plant.
I found for the first time the sensitive plant
growing wild. It spreads very ofton over
marshy ground, something like a tumbler.—
The sensitive loaves spread out prettily from
the creeping tendrils in the sunshine, somo liko
lady-form. It is curious to come to a little din
gle of them, where a thousand tendrils, all in
terwoven, liko a humble thicket, to shake the
twig,audcommunicatetho vibration totho whole,
nnd sec the thousand green leaves, all curling
themselves up, and shrinking hack at your ap
proach, as if afraid of V>oingtrod on, the senha
tion-likefcelling of life, running ovor them
nil, as a shock of electricity. —Journal fa
