Forsyth, of the Mobile llerjinter, having been suggested as the Democratic uundklato for Gubernatorial honors, says: “If there is one thing which we have always had a particular fancy not to be, it is a State Governor, ” and won’t listen to any further suggestions on this line. —On Saturday, in the U. S. Circuit Court at Mobile, Judge Woods rendered a decree ordoriug the Alabama and Chat tanooga Kailroatl to be sold on the first Monday in May. The minimum price is live million dollars. The proceeds are to be applied to extinguish the olaims of the first mortgage bondholders. —A number of Montgomery Radicals have founded an organization, similar to the national guards, and are preparing a way to burst up the present city council, and the existing stato of things at the next electiou. Selma, Rome A Daltou $38,087, South it Noilly 1 Alabama $164,000. —The Stockholders of the Montgomery Water Works Company met Friday. The annual reports show that Messrs. Mo- Donough «t Flaunery have taken the con tract to furnish all material and erect tho work-i for $180,000. Montgomery has granted valuable privileges, and agrees to ; pay $73 annually each for 100 fire plugs. The Hoard of Directors have authorized 1 the issuance of $123,000 eight per cent.
