Talbot and Chattahoochee Superior
Courts.
Judge Johnson has ordered Talbot Su
perior Court to bo held on tho third and
fourth Mondays of this month, and Chat
tahoochee Court on tho fifth Monduy,
in oonsoqueuee of Chattahoochee circuit
oases coming before the Supremo Court
during the presaut and next week. This
is done to accommodate tho bar, who arc
compelled to attend the Supreme Court
Amusements.

Win. Jacknou, colored, had his Sunday j

Surrendered at Lust by Ills Bondsmen -
I.arye Rewards Made.
About three years since, one O. A.
Fields waylaid, shot and killed Jere Du
mas. in Russell county, Ala., near Society
Hill. Two or three hours previous, ho
had a difficulty with Dumas, in which the
latter abused and ill-treated Fields. After
tho killing Fields Hod and made his es-
capo. The citizonb of tho vicinity offered
a liberal reward, and the Governor of Al
abama also offered a reward, tho whole
amounting to the sum of $700 or $800.
Fields was captured near Goldville, Ala.,
where he had a brother living, by J. D.
Williford, formerly of this city, uud now
U. S. Deputy Marshal in Alabama, and
delivered to Jhe Sheriff' of Russell county.
At the Fall Term, 1872, of the Circuit
Court, tho case coming on for trial, was
continued by tho State, and tho Court,
Judge Strange presiding, ordered tho de
fendant admitted to bail iu the sum of
$1200, which ho was unable to give.
At tho Spring Term, 1873, tho cause
wnu again continued by tho State, and the
bond reduced to $750, whioh the defend
ant succeeded in giving, some twelve or
fifteen persons becoming his bondsmen.
()u Tuesduy lust, having had u personul
difficulty with a gentleman, and after
wards ill-treating his wile, he was surren
dered into the custody of the Sheriff by
his bondsmen, and is now in jail. His
wifo and three little children wore found
to be without anything to eat, but the
good citizens of Soule relieved their ne
cessities promptly.

t and still does so. Col. Ball issuod
a vory polite order, with few words, how-

must ho loworod. He would dislike to
tho Horvicos of any of his tnuu who
hud been so true and faithful, and ho
hoped all would consent to the reduction,
ho would dislike fur any one of them
to loavo his employ. Tho men all lovo

A Model Southern County.
Watt A Walker received a consignment
by tho last boot of three hundred bushels
of corn from Jackson county, Floridu.
The citizens write thnt if thoy could bo
furnishod with sacks nud money to pay
freight, thoy could Hood Columbus with
corn. Tho samo county, by tho last boat,
sent tivo hundred dozou eggs to Colum
bus for salo, and by tho last two steamers
forwarded cloven huudrod dozen. Tho
oggs alone aro worth $275. Wo think
this county has sout somo $3,500 worth
of oggs to this point this season. The
pooplo have no lions on tboir crops.
Mayor’s Court Yesterday.
Georgo doubling and Thomas Borry
wero charged with disorderly conduct on
Thursday last. Neither party appoarod.
Thomas Borry sout iu a plea of guilty and
was lined $12 50. GouKling was a coun
try mun nud lmd gone homo. His enso
was postponed.
Isaac Baldwin and Moso Leo had boon
quite dramy on tho 2(5th. Thoy camo
vory near having a tight,and Moso drew a
knife on Iko. Baldwin was lined $5 and

Abner Brown, colored, had boon vory
drunk and disorderly on Saturday, and
had n tight near tho oar shed. Being
