Mayor Bryan

play the old
skinflint Ebene-
zer Scrooge,
who learns the
true meaning of
Christmas from
ghostly visits to
his past, pres
ent, and future.
Mayor Thompson is joined by a large
cast of the Golden Isles’ most talented
performers of all ages as the spirits,
townspeople, and hapless Cratchetts.
Advance ticket prices are $20 (adult),
$15 (seniors
65+) and $5
(ages 18 and
under). For

Valdosta State GI Alumni to host oyster roast
The Valdosta State University
Alumni Association and the latest
alumni chapter, the Golden Isles Blaz
er Club, invite alumni and friends
to an Oyster Roast from 5:30-7:30
p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at Gnats
Landing, Redefern Village, St. Simons
Island.
One of the group's founding mem
bers Robyn Rotunda, '02, said, "Our
first event will be an opportunity to
meet alumni and plan events to sup
port future students, give back to the
university and engage in local service
opportunities on VSUs behalf."
"There is such a large population of
Valdosta State alumni in the area, so
it just makes sense to form an alumni
chapter in the Golden Isles," said
Rotunda, director of membership ser
vices for the Brunswick-Golden Isles
Chamber of Commerce.

On Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
the Glynn Academy Concert Choir
and Academy Singers, in conjunction
with the Glynn Academy Chamber
Orchestra, will present Noel: The
Music ofAngels in the sanctuary of
St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church,
1120 Newcastle Street, Brunswick.
Concert highlights will include
selected movements of Antonio
Vivaldi's Gloria featuring the GA
Chamber Orchestra and Concert
Choir, Vaclav Nehlybel's setting of
the medieval text Estampie Natalis,
Victoria's 0 Magnum Mysterium, and
Morten Lauridsen's stunningly beau
tiful setting of Sure On This Shining
Night.
Nathaniel Roper, Director of Cho
rale and Orchestra activities at Glynn
Academy, will direct the program. A
freewill donation will be collected.
