Dr. R. J. Massey, who has been

next Monday night, at the cour£
House, on Prohibition, The ladies
have a special invitation. .
Rev C. S. Owens, pastor of the I
Methodist church, will preach in
Douglasville next Sunday at elevon
O’clock, A. M. on the subject of
prohibition, and at the court House
at 30’ClockP. M. to the colored peo
ple on same subject. We expact for
him a full house at each appoitment.
The new bridge on Mobley’s creek
at the public road crossing near the
residence of E. M. Banks, is complet
which opens and makes a practical
route from Douglasville to Carroll
ton, some nearer than by IPinston
and no railroad annoyance.
The members of the Chapel Hill
Baptist Church, selected Rev. W A.
Lane to serve them as their pastor
for another year. This was a good
selection there are few better preuch
era than Mr. Lane.
M, D. Watkins of Carroll coun

Matshal Aderhold on last I tiday
’ arrested George Haynes col, ■on a
warrant sent him from Acworth.
The warrant was sworn out by Mr.
Lee Tanner a merchant of Acworth
and charge Haynes with being a
common cheat and swindler. Haynes
at once gave bond for his appearance
before the commitment court and re
tained Judge R. A. Massey and I
Col. B. G. Griggs to defend him.
The Richards Frontier Troope
gave a most ere litableentertainment
at the court bouse last Tuesday
night, They deserve a literal pat
ranage wherever they may go.
