To Tao People.
It has been the aim of ths proprf*
etor of the Star, from tbe time he
first took charge of the paper, to
give its patrons the best paper that
Douglasville has evsr produced. To
keep up this idea, he has from time
to time added such improvements as
bis weans, and tbe constantly in*
creasing patronage of the ivat would
jnfitify.
This week, ha has made a new de*
partart, and presents bis rsadsrs
with an eight page paper, which he
hopes the people wilt sufficiently
appresiats to give him such assfs.
tancs as will justify its continuance.
There being twice as much paper,
compo&ition, etc. as there was in our
former papers of four pages, the ex
pense of getting it out is necessarily
twice ss great as formerly.
Now, he baa this request io make:
Won’t each subscriber to tbe. Star
try bis or her best, to gst soma one
who is not a subscriber, to take tbe
paper F If you trill do this, and the
business men of tbe county will give
him their patronage, be promises to
keep up the eight pages, and will
give you a paper that you, tbe busi
ness men, and the people at largo
will be proud of. He believes bis
patrons think enough of tbe paper
to make the effort, and confidently
awaits the result.
