COMER FIRST GRADE STARS
STAR students for August were recently recognized at Comer Elementary. These stu
dents had “STAR” behavior. First grade students recognized included (back row) Carter
Hart, Lexi Chapman, Iris Keift, Abby Hutchinson, Mattie Harris, (front row) Ashton Hill,
Will Coile and Jamie Dixon.

STAR students for August were recently recognized at Comer Elementary School. These

Madison Beasley, Jaxon Hoetzel, Landon Dougherty, (front row) Ansley Zorbanos, Cassie
Beam and Colby Spurlin.
COMER KINDERGARTEN STARS
STAR students for August were recently recognized at Comer Elementary. These stu
dents had “STAR” behavior. Kindergarten students recognized included (back row)
Stephen Brooks, Anna Thomas, (front row) MiKayal Evans, Hunter Edwards and Mattox
Hinsley.
ART, MUSIC, PE STARS
Art, music, and PE STAR students for August at Comer Elementary School included
(back row) Sydney Graham, Chase Burdette, (front row) Kiya Hubbard, Hannah Bruce

COLBERT STUDENTS OF THE MONTH (K-2)
Colbert Elementary School has announced its August students of the month. Students
were chosen by their teachers and other staff members based on outstanding or improved
academics as well as outstanding or improved behavior. This year, students who have
been selected for student of the month will earn a dog tag. Pictured are kindergarten
ers Maddie Hersh, Kris Gurley, Samantha Kelley; first graders Madison Fielding Joshua
Kincaid; second graders Cameron Smith, Mary Beth Slaton and Ana Jorge. Not pictured

Colbert Elementary School has announced its August students of the month. Students

SARVER WINS
FLORAL DESIGN EVENT
Madison County Middle School FFA
member Emili Sarver recently won the
Area II Junior FFA Floral Design Career
Development Event (CDE). The event
was held at East Jackson High School
in Jackson County on Sept. 10- Sarver
will compete for state honors at the
Georgia State Florists Association Annual
Convention in March of 2010 at the FFA/
FCCLA Center in Covington. Sarver, an
eighth grader, is the daughter of Keith and
Judi Sarver, Danielsville.
Lt. Patton visits Ila
Elementary School
Ila Elementary School recently had a visit from Lt. David Patton
and several safety personnel. Officer Patton spoke to the students
about the importance of using 911 correctly and fire safety proce
dures.
“It was a very informative way to provide the students with infor
mation on how to stay safe and use the 911 system,” school officials
said.
