celebrate 150 years of serving God

•Fourgiven, a southern gospel
quartet, will be in concert Sunday,
Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. at Baxley Church
of God, located on Main Street
in Baxley. Fourgiven will also be
in concert at the Appling County
Recreation Complex, at 1:30 p.m.,

Comer will hold a special singing
Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning at 7:30

•The Greater Hope Fellowship
Church, Danielsville, will host a
G.L.O.W. Fall Festival Saturday,
Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. There
will be free games, food, pony rides
and horseback rides, church leaders
said. "Come 'dunk the preacher’
and stay for the hayride,” leaders
said. “This will be free fun for
the entire family." The pastor is

•Bluegrass Gospel comes to
Nicholson at Beauchamps Gospel

•Community Baptist Church
will have a gospel singing featuring

26, through Wednesday, Oct. 28,
at 7 p.m. each evening. Dr. Ron

will perform; Tuesday night will fea
ture CS&K and Wednesday night’s

•Community Baptist Church
will have a harvest festival on
Saturday, Oct. 31, from 4—7 p.m.
There will be 30 booths featuring
evangelistic bags, candy, cakewalks,
games, clowns, hayrides, family
photos, give-a-ways, contests, five
inflatable bouncers, slides and inter
active games, along with free con
cessions, including hot dogs, boiled
peanuts, popcorn, cotton candy
and sno-cones, organizers said.

•Mt. Zion Church will have its
fourth annual Women's Conference
on Monday, Oct. 26, beginning at 7
p.m. The featured speaker will be
Karen Peck Gooch. Church leaders
say register early since seating is
limited. Pre-registration is $10 per
person, or $15 at the door. There is
one free registration for groups of
ten or more, church leaders said and
each registrant will receive a gift
bag. There will be drawings for var

•Springfield Baptist Church of
Comer will present their Memorial
Fall Concert Saturday, Oct. 24, at
4 p.m. The concert will be held
in memoiy of choir members and
other members that are no longer
with us, church leaders said. There
will be various choirs from the
surrounding area participating and
“everyone is invited to join us on
this special occasion,” leaders said.
•Madison County Pastors
and Layman will sponsor a
Community Fun Day at the
Madison County Recreation Park,
Hwy. 98, Danielsville, Saturday,
Oct. 31, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This
a family fun day, organizers said,
and their will be games, food, a
health screening, singing and other
activities. “The public is invited,”
organizers said.
•New Beginning Family
Worship Center will have a
women’s Bible study each Tuesday,
from 6:45-8 p.m. entitled, “The
Inheritance of Beth Moore." Church
leaders say the study will be both
thought-provoking and humorous.

•Gordon’s Chapel United
Methodist Church is sponsoring
a fall festival Saturday, Oct. 24,
at the Sanford Community Center,
Nowhere Rd„ Hull, from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. Chicken BBQ plates are
$7 per plate will be available for
purchase along with arts, crafts,
gifts and baked goods. "Come
join in the fun and participate in
all the games, hayride, turkey shoot
and petting zoo," church leaders

•Friendship Baptist Church
will sponsor a fall festival
Thursday, Oct. 28, beginning at
6:30 p.m. This is a community-
family event, church leaders said.
“Come dressed in a non-scary cos
tume if you like — prizes will
be given," leaders said. There
will be hot dogs, chips, drinks,
popcorn, sno-cones and cookie
decorating for dessert. Enjoy
10-plus different games, a hayride,
marshmallow roast, face painting,
and more. Many fantastic door
prizes to be given away to adults
and children, leaders said. "Come
see our special guests and hear
a story presented by our Pastor
Larry Elliott,” church leaders said.
“Come celebrate the beautiful sea
son of fall God has created for

•Comer Baptist Church will
have a community yard sale to
benefit its Launch Ministry at the
Comer fairgrounds Saturday, Nov.
14, beginning at 8 a.m., rain or shine.

table. Cost is $20 per table. Church
leaders say the Potters House will
be available to pick up any remain
ing items.
•Providence Baptist Church
will hold a fall festival, hobo supper
and concert Saturday, Nov. 7. The
festival will be held from 5-8 p.m.
with games for kids, hay rides, cake
walk and other fun activities. The
hobo supper plates are $6 each and
include fatback, combread, filed
potatoes, onion slices and choices of
black-eyed peas or pinto beans and
cabbage or slaw. The supper will be
available from 5-7 p.m. - take out
or dine in. The concert, featuring
the group Fourgiven, and others,
will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is
free for the festival and concert.
Donations will be accepted for the
church’s youth group. For more

•Gordon’s Chapel UMC will
hold its Annual Toys for Christmas
registration Saturday, Nov. 14,
from 9 a.m. - noon at the Sanford
Community Center. "If you find
that you are in need of a toy for your
child(ren) for Christmas this year,
Gordon's Chapel may be the place
for you," church leaders said. “We
will once again host our toy give
away for needy families." Please
take note that this year’s registration
is different. Registration will be on
Nov. 14 only at the community
center — there will be no phone
registration, church leaders empha
sized. Those in need must register
for assistance with toys on this day.
More information about the date to
pick up toys will be given at regis
tration, church leaders said.
