ROTARY CONSTRUCTS RAMP FOR MASSEY
The Rotary Club of Madison County completed its 402nd handi
capped ramp last Thursday. It was a long 36-foot ramp and was
constructed for Charlie Massey, who lives with his sister Margie
Atkins on Eustis Carter Road. Charlie is 64 years old, and had a
stroke when he was 27. He is now in a nursing home recovering
from a knee replacement. Margie said there was no way he could
come home until a ramp was constructed to get him in and out in his
wheelchair. She also donated $400 to the Rotary Foundation to help
with future ramps. Workers on the ramp included: Artry Bishop,
James Adams, Alton Rowe, Roy Gandy, and his granddaughter Amy
Steffel, Ed Brown, Jerry Bond, Erwin Hardeman, and Jim Jeffer.
The Rotarians and helpers donate their time and skills to make
these handicapped ramps possible.
