DANIELSVILLE CELEBRATES
‘CHARACTER DAY
Danielsville Elementary School celebrated book “Character
Day” Thursday, Oct. 29. Students and teachers dressed as
book characters to celebrate reading. Characters ranged
from Pippi Longstockings to Skippyjon Jones. “Everyone
who particpated had a great time and did a great job!” teach
ers said. Grade level winners were as follows: Amber Queen,
pre-K; Ethan Bond, kindergarten; Brady Bates, first grade;
Jaycelen Sexton, second grade; Emily Austin, third grade;
Konner Jones, fourth grade; and Cammie Tittle, fifth grade.
GRAND CHAMPION BARROW
The swine show team traveled down to Perry on
Thursday October 16 for the Georgia National Fair
market pigs and breeding gilt show, the last and the
largest swine show for the fall show season, with over
750 head of swine in the event. Zack Taylor showed the
grand champion barrow of the entire show. Pictured are

FINE TIME AT SWINE SHOW
The Madison County swine show team traveled to Perry
Oct. 16 for the Georgia National Fair market pigs and
breeding gilt show. Pictured is Colton Searcy who showed
the junior and division reserve champion.
HULL BEST ATTENDANCE WINNERS
Cari Keller’s fifth grade class was recently awarded
a trophy and banner for having the best attendance
at Hull Sanford Elementary School for the month of

Sunday morning 11:00 worship services
and Wednesday evening 7:00 choir
rehearsals. Candidates will play for an
experienced choir, accompany hymns,
anthems, and seasonal cantatas, and
provide bi-weekly offertory music. Pay is
$425.00 per month with 2 weeks paid

Forty-five fifth and sixth grade students presented five-
minute demonstrations on topics that they had researched
or gave four-minute talent performances during the com
petition in County Project Achievement.
4-Hers compete in
project achievement
Cloverleaf 4-H’ers from across the county competed in County Project
Achievement (CPA) Oct. 24 at the Colt Academy in Danielsville.
Forty-five fifth and sixth grade students presented five-minute dem
onstrations on topics that they had researched or gave four-minute talent
performances during the competition.
To participate in CPA, the youth selected a 4-H project that interested
them and prepared an illustrated talk, performance, or demonstration
about it. They gave their presentations before a panel of judges and were
scored based on subject knowledge, visuals and speech or performance
delivery.
Noah Dobbs, a fifth grade student at Colt Academy, competed in
the performing arts vocal project by performing “One More Chance.”
MCMS sixth grade student, Nicole Keyros, presented a demonstra
tion on diabetes in the health project and Keith Gantt, a fifth grader at
Comer, talked about basketball in the sports project.
‘These are just three examples of the outstanding work completed by
these 5 th and 6 th grade students,” organizers said.
Angela Gantt, a parent of one of the 4-H’ers said, "I think the CPA
program was a good experience for the kids to build up their speaking
ability and a way to meet other kids.”
Her son Keith said the “When I came to CPA I was very nervous but
once I got done, I felt relaxed because it was over—then when I placed
second, I felt great!”
First place CPA winners included Julia Chitwood, cat care; Chase
Dudley, companion animals; Cydney Flanigan, computers: Andra
Chandler, conservation and recycling; Breanna Tate and Taralee
Runyan, dog care and training; Hannah Smith, entomology: Cristal
Saigado, food fare: Aiden Edwards, crafts; Cameron Griffith, general
recreation; Holly Glenn, general science; Rory Smith, geology; Nicole
Keyros, health, Brett Black, archaeology; Emily Moore, outdoor sur
vival skills, Hannah Griffith and Elizabeth Simmons, performing arts
(general), Chance Dudley, performing arts (instrumental), Noah Dobbs,
performing arts (vocal): Dyson Christian, photography; Chandler Perry,
poultry and egg science: Caleb Brown and Chad Williams, safety; Cody
Bond, sports; Tyler Carter, target sports; Samantha Watson, veterinary
science and Noah Rogers, wildlife.
Second place winners included Bulla Grant, Carson Collier, Paige
Whitehead, Savannah Smith, Julia Hix, Hannah Bruce, Keith Gantt,
Breanna Thomas, Bryan Kerr, and Sebastian McCullough.
Third place winners included Cammie Tittle, Emily Kent, Michael
Wilbanks, Naomi Person, and Rusty Nelms.
Several of these 4-H’ers participate in District Project Achievement
Nov. 22 at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center near Eatonton.
