There will be a Sabre Contest between the Savannah and
Augusta Sabre Clubs on Friday and Saturday, January 3d and

Open to the world, three or more to enter. Fastest Trot
ting Single-harness Horse, purse $100; Fastest Pair of Trot
ting Horses, owned and used as such, purse SSO; Best Single
harness Horse, plate. S2O; Best Pair of Harness Horses, plate,
$25; Best Pacing Horse, plate, sls; Running Race, sweep
stakes. mile heats, three or more to enter, two to start,
entrance 10 per cent., purse S2OO.
COTTON PREMIUMS.
The chamber of Commerce otter the following premiums:
For best three bales of Upland Cotton, of one planter’s
growth, on exhibition, premium to go to planter, SSO.
For three bales ranking second in quality, premium to go
to planter, S4O.
For three bales, ranking third in quality, S3O; premium to
go to the planter.
For the best bale of Sea Island Cotton. SSO; next best in
quality, premium to go to planter, S4O.
For the best Gin for Upland Cotton, SIOO.
For the best bushel of Rough Rice, of the variety known as
Gold Seed, premium to go to planter, $lO.
For the best bushel of Rough Rice, of the variety known as
White, premium to go to planter, $lO.
No fee will he charged for entering of exhibiting articles.

entrance S3O, half forfeit; $l5O added by the Club.

Tm iu> Rack.— Mile heats; purse $200; $l5O to first, SSO to
second horse.
SECOND DAY.
First Rack. — Two mile heats; purse $500; S4OO to first, £IOO
to second horse.
Second Race. —Association Stakes, for all ages; weight for
age; one and a half miles; entrance SSO, half forfeit; $250
added bv the Club. ' . ,
Closed with three nominations.
THIRD DAY.
Fiust Rack. — Mile heats, best three in live; purse $000; $450
to the first horse. $l5O to the second.
Second Rack. Sweepstakes, for three year olds; one and
a quarter miles; entrance SSO, half forfeit; S3O added by the 1

Closed with ten nominations.
FOURTH DAY.
First Rack. —Three mile heats; purse $800; SOOO to the first
horse, S2OO to the second.
Second Race.—Pulaski House Purse, $250; dash of two
miles; for all ages; weight for age.
No entrance fee t<> Purse Race. Three or more to fill. Two
to start. No walk over. The Club reserve the right to post
pone any race in consequence of inclement weather.
