is filled with 4-H fun! Look here
to see what fits your fancy. First,
lets congratulate our first Miss
Houston County 4-H Queens:
Miss Cloverieaf-Kristy Garrett,
Miss Junior 4-H-Lindsey Etheridge
and Miss Senior 4-H-Amanda
Meadows. First runner-up for Miss
Cloverleaf was Ashley Anderson
and second runner-up was Celena
Mead. For Miss Junior 4-H, Dana
Collier was runner-up. Aletha
Cherry was first runner-up and
Kelly Dodson tied with Candiss
Williams for Miss Senior 4-H.
Cheryl Hawley raised the most
money for the pageant Thanks to
all of our judges and participents.
We're glad that Houston County's
first 4-H Pageant was such a big hit
and we hope for the same success in
the years to come.
We would also like to
congratulate our Cloverleaf DPA
winners. Houston County received
a plaque for the most winners
again! Thanks to our Teen Leaders
Candiss Williams, Samantha Dunn,
Bryant Bledsoe, Mark Slaughter,
Abena Adutwum, Althea Cherry,
Lydia Cox, Karen Ludwig and also
Mrs. Slaughter for helping out.

The Cotton Bowl will take place
on Friday, May 18 at the Houston
Mall. Practices will be held on
these dates: March 21, 28, April
11, 18, at 7 p.m. Call Mrs. Jan
Christian for the address.
The Senior reward trip will be at
Camp Fulton on May 13-14.
Activities will include Underground
Atlanta, the Fembank Museum, and
many others. In order to qualify,
you must have three Teen Leader
activities, one fundraiser, two
community service activities, and

Social will be at Lake Tobesofkee
this year. Turn in five names and
five addresses of future members by
the next meeting.
On April 16, DPA participants
can go to Zoo Atlanta for a reward
trip. Seniors will act as Teen
Leaders for Cloverleafs.
The Senior Conference will be at
Jekyll Island on April 22-24. The
price is S4O and this years theme is
"Jammin' at Jekyll." This is going
to be fun. Have your money turned
in by County Council.
Before you go, we have a very
important announcement to make.
The next 4-H meeting will be on
March 29, not April 5! We are
doing this because of Spring Break.
Junior 4-Hers, seventh and eighth
graders, will have their meeting at
5:30-7 p.m. and Senior 4-Hers,
ninth through twelfth grade, will
have their meeting at 6-7:30 p.m.
Both will be in the Fine Arts
Building of Houston County High
School. Don't miss out on the fun!
