A brand new dinner club being
formed in the Perry area is just one
meeting away from receiving its
charter.
According to James and Hazel
Miller, certified club builders for
Civitan International, the Cross

final pre-charter meeting at 7:30
p.m. Monday, April 11, at the
Perry Library, with official charter
festivities planned for April 18 at
the Northrop Cafeteria on Thomp-

The Clintons tell us the villains
in the high cost of medical care are
the insurance companies. Actually,
the insurance companies pay only
what the doctors and hospitals
charge. And often not all of it.
It seems that uniform, reasonable

READINGS: I'm an avid reader
of newspapers and magazines. I get
a kick out of cartoons that I see in
most of them.
For example, last Sunday in the
Atlanta Journal there was a cartoon
in which a congressman said, "I
spell relief T-A-X-E-S". How true.
In another cartoon a mother was
telling her husband Tm having
trouble finding a teenager to
babysit. They all have kids of their
own". How sad.
pancake breakfast which fed some

entertainment, great food and
fantastic events all along and around
the downtown area.
Although this year’s event was
broken into two weekends because
of the Easter holiday, next year’s
Seventh Annual Dogwood Festival
will return to normal scheduling
with all events being held on the
weekend of April 1 and 2.
The annual festival is sponsored
by the Perry Area Chamber of
Commerce.
Miller added that the new club is
open to all adults and will be
meeting on the second and fourth
Monday evening of every month.
All members who sign up by
Charter Night will be listed as
charter members of the club.
