"When he is throwing well,"
said Hornet head coach Bert Brown
about Talton, "and getting ahead of
hitters, we tend to play better de

Not only was Talton the pitch

provided the offensive punch as
well. With the Bulldogs pitching
around Nuss, walking the Hornet
power hitter three times, Talton
stepped up and filled the vacuum,
getting two hits, including a dou

Campbell said it would be hard
for the Hornets to replace Thomp

Thompson batted third in the

The City of Perry is currently under a restraining order issued by the Environmental Protection
Division of the State of Georgia relative to disposal of certain household debris. The City of Perry can
no longer place some items in our Toomer Road Landfill that have been allowed in the past. Therefore,
we must ask the citizens of the City of Perry to immediately start separating materials that are placed
beside the street for pickup.
The categories should be as follows:
1) Yard debris or tree trimmings
2) Construction and demolition debris, such as wood and masonry type items
3) Household disposable type items, such as furniture, mattresses, boxsprings, plastics and small
metal items
Should you have an appliance (washers, refrigerator, stove, etc.), please call City Hall for pickup ol
these items. The City of Perry will maintain a log of these items by street address and will pick these
items by street address and will pick these items up on Wednesdays of each week.
You cooperation and patience with us in this critical period will be appreciated. It is the intent of the
City of Perry to continue to give the citizens at least once a week pickup on these items as we have in

"The key is having five solid
golfers," repeated Arrington. "All of
mine are capable of shooting in the

Arrington said his team had a

the state.

"You want your team playing
well at tournament time," said
Brown. "I've got to be pleased with
how well things have gone the last
couple of weeks."
After starting the season slowly,
winning only two of their first 13
games, the Hornets have righted
their ship, coming back to win five
of their last six. Only two bad in

Tattnall, separate the Hornets from
a perfect Record over the last six
games, said Brown.
Although Athens Christian
would take the early lead with a
single run in the top of the first,
the Hornets would be in control
throughout the game.

chance at winning the champi

mid-70s, we should be in the run

Chief obstacles in the way of a
state championship for Westfield
will be Southland, which beat the
Hornets earlier this year by 17
strokes, 309-326, Westminster

Stratford Academy. Brentwood will
have a slight advantage as the host

"It should make for a right tight

The Hornets would continue
their attack in the bottom of the
second, batting around, putting four
runs on the board as Thad Hawk and
Jake Walls had RBI singles.
The Eagles would rally for one
run in the third, cutting Westfield's
lead to 7-2. However, the Hornets
would get the run back in the bot

who had reached with a flair to left.
Leadoff man Matt Shepley pro
