planning and directing the overall opera
tion and management of fire prevention of
Houston County. Thorough knowledge ol
fire acknnistration. including organization,
staffing, financial, equpment management
and maintenance, records and reports;
thorough knowledge of mode m firefighting
techniques and equipment; thorough
knowledge of the laws and regulations
relating to the control and prevention ol
fire; ability to plan, layout and review the
activities of a fire department and to main
tain distune; ability to exercise sound
judgement n emergencies; ability to ana
lyze the effectiveness of a firefighting or
ganization and to institute improvements:
ability to prepare and review reports; abil
ity to establish and maintain effective work
ing relationships with subordinates, other
officials, volunteer departments and the
general public. Any combination of educa
tion and experience equivalent to gradua
tion from a community college with major
course work in fire science, public admin
istration or related field. Considerable ex
perience in progressively responsible fire
fighting positions, with considerable com
mand experience. Possession of a valid
appropriate drivers license issued by the
state of Georgia. Must meet the require
ments of Georgia Law 92A-2607. Salary
$27,352.00 plus benefits. Applications/re
