Perry Police Department for
the period Aug. 17-23.)
Driving under influence
Theodore Hazzard, of a Florida
address, was arrested Aug. 17 for
charges of Driving Under the
Influence after Officer E.L. Thomas
noticed the cyclist not wearing a
helmet. A strong odor of alcohol
was found on the man's breath, and
later registered a .17 after a
breathalizer test.
Cash is stolen
Willard Wilder, an employee of
Wayne Morris Ford, complained to
police Wednesday that someone had
broken into the dealership between
8 p.m. Aug. 16 and 7:30 a.m. on
Aug. 17 and stolen $670 in cash.
The case remains under
investigation.
Theft from drawer
Bacchus Jackson, the manager of
Domino's Pizza, told police that
sometime between 1 a.m. and
10:08 a.m. on Aug. 17 that
someone had stolen S3OO from a
cash drawer in the business office.
Entry was made by using a key to
the building. The case is being
investigated.
Lost jewelry
Holley Turner, of 306 E. Main
St. in Marshallville, complained to
police Aug. 17 that she had lost a
7-inch silver bracelet valued at $650
at either a 1211 Main St. or 1367
Sam Nunn Blvd. location here.
Auto entered
Genevieve Mitchell, of 908
Jeannie St., complained to police
that between the hours of 9 a.m.
and 6 p.m. on Aug. 17 someone
had entered her auto without
permission.
Woman threatened
Angela Patterson, of 127 Felton
Ave., reported that someone had
pointed a pistol at her at 4:23 p.m.
on Aug. 17 while walking along
Gen. Courtney Hodges Blvd.
VCR returned
Carl Bowen, an employee of Red
Gable Inn, told police Aug. 18 that
someone had returned a VCR taken
earlier from the 1006 St. Patricks
Dr. location.
Car entered
Dana Teel, of 320 Hwy. 41
South, told police that someone
entered his car between 11:15 p.m.
Aug. 17 and 10:30 a.m. on Aug.
18 while it was parked at 1413 Sam
Nunn Blvd.
Simple battery
Jennifer Harris, of 1307 Whipple
St., told police that she was struck
by someone at the above location at
7:45 p.m. on Aug. 19. The case
remains under investigation.
Stealing a draft
Michelle Egler, an employee of
Fuel South, complained to police
Aug. 19 that someone had entered
the store at approximately 10:09
p.m. and left without paying for a
$1.09 can of beer.
Jewelry stolen
k Connie Henry, of a
Lawrenceville address, told police
she had discovered $1,775 worth of
jewelry stolen from 106 Gen.
Victim identified by police
Perry Police have identified a
man who died last week after being
found on a city sidewalk.
The victim is Alford Durham,
; 48, of 936 Jeannie St.
’ Durham was found Aug. 17
lying on a sidewalk along Courtney
;Hodges Blvd. after police were
to the scene.
;■ Emergency units from the Perry
iFire Dept, arrived and were able to
keep the man stabilized, but the
;man later went into cardiac arrest.

Courtney Hodges Blvd. The theft is
believed to have happened between
8 a.m. on July 29 and midnight
Aug. 11.
Man arrested for battery
Willie Bernard Collier, of 1203
Ball Sl, was arrested on charges of
battery (domestic violence) after
being called to the offender's
location at 11:55 p.m. on Aug. 19.
Theft by conversion
Sherry Blair, an employee of
McFrugal Auto Rental, complained
to police that someone had taken
property belonging to the 525
Courtney Hodges Blvd. business on
Aug. 19.
Dangerous drugs
Bonnie Wirsing, an employee of
Big B Drugs, told police that
someone had entered the 1600
Macon Rd. store Aug. 19 at 8:34
p.m. attempting to obtain two
prescriptions by way of forged
material.
Wine stolen
Joseph Henry, an employee of
Zeb's Zip In, told police that
someone entered the store Aug. 19
at about 12:15 p.m. and stole a
bottle of wine valued at $4.29.
Property damage
Roger Bloodworth, an employee
of John Pitts Construction Co.,
complained to police that someone
had damaged approximately SIOO
- worth of equipment at its
1900 Macon Rd. business between
4:30 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 8 a.m.
on Aug. 20.
Disturbance In lot
Thomas Ross called police to
1414 Sam Nunn Blvd. at 1:43 p.m.
on Aug. 20 to complain of a
disturbance in a parking lot.
Pointing pistol
Otis Anderson, of 1412 Houston
Lake Dr., told police that someone
had had pointed a pistol at him at
10:40 p.m. on Aug. 20 while he
was at 1423 Houston Lake Rd.
Auto damaged
Queen Adeboyejo, of 1109
Gaines Dr., complained to police
Aug. 20 that someone had scratched
the paint on her car while it was
parked at K-Mart between 7 p.m.
on and 9 p.m. on Aug. 9. The
damage was estimated to exceed
SSOO, according to police.
Theft of meai
Betty Reeves, an employee of
Piggly Wiggly, complained to
police that someone had left the
store Aug. 21 about 12 'noon
without paying for an undetermined
amount of meaL
Vehicle damaged
Bill Andrew, of 206 Todd Rd.,
told police that someone had
damaged his vehicle while it was
parked at 1114 Macon Rd. on Aug.
21. Damage was estimated to
exceed SSOO, according to police
reports.
Driving intoxicated
Vanda Shontellc Harris, of 1207
Washington St., was arrested by
police Aug. 21 at 1:31 a.m. after
she was noticed weaving on the
roadway along W.F. Ragin Dr.
Harris was charged with driving
under the influence, weaving, and
spokesperson at Perry Hospital.
The actual cause of death
remains unknown, according to
Det. Bill Phelps, pending an
autopsy report.
A witness who saw the man
collapse as he walked along
Courtney Hodges Blvd. said the
man appeared to have collapsed
suddenly.
"He just fell backwards," Phelps
said he was told by the witness.
"The guy couldn't talk, he didn't say
anything. He finally went into a
state of unconsciousness."

Simple battery
Cathy Simmons, of 534
Ochlahatchee Dr., told police that
someone had damaged her auto
while parked at 1600 Macon Rd. on
Aug. 21 at 7:55 a.m.
Attempted break-in
Steven Ussery, of 1603 Macon
Rd., told police that someone had
tried to gain access to his apartment
between 7 a.m. and 7:54 p.m. on
Aug. 21. An investigation showed
that some damage had been done to
a window, but entry was not
gained.
Family argument
Elizabeth Hollinsworth, of 509
Seminole St., told police that her
mother-in-law had caused a
disturbance when the two got into a
dispute on Aug. 21 at 6:21 p.m.
Bicycle stolen
Christopher Jones, of 518
Edwards St., told police that
someone had stolen a bicycle from
his residence sometime between 9
p.m. Aug. 20 and 5:04 p.m. Aug.
21.
Simple battery
Bobby Phillips, of 127 Jewel
Dr., complained of simple battery
between the hours of 10- 11:10
p.m. on Aug. 21.
Fuel stolen
Chris Dominick, an employee of
Zeb's Zip In, told police that
someone pumped $9.50 worth of
gas at about 12:02 a.m. on Aug. 22
and left without payment
Suspended license
Ladell Newsome, of 1201 Main
St., was arrested by police Aug. 22
for driving on a suspended license.
Newsome was stopped at a license
check on Hwy 41 S. at 6:51 p.m.
Harassing call
Marilyn Harris, of 615 Smith
Dr., told police that she had
received a harassing telephone call
at 12:05 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Aggravated assault
Khaleclah Muhammad, of 1980
Kings Chapel Rd., complained to
police that he was assaulted at his
residence by a person yet to be
identified between 9:50 p.m. and
10:00 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Domestic problem
Alice Eagle, of 1045 Keith Dr.,
complained to police on Aug. 22
that she had been involved in an
earlier domestic dispute.
Traffic violation
Gregory Edwin Collier, of 216
Toomer Rd., was stopped by the
Georgia State Patrol at 2:35 p.m.
on Aug. 22 for driving with a
suspended license and displaying an
open container of alcohol.
Car stolen
Mark James, of 121 Heard Rd.
in Kathleen, complained that
someone had stolen his 1986 Honda
Accord while it was parked at 1420
Sam Nunn Blvd. around 11:38 p.m.
on Aug. 22. The case remains under
investigation.
Bicycle recovered
Officer A. Hilton recovered a
bicycle earlier reported stolen by
Adrienne Hilton, of 1207
Washington St. The officer was on
routine patrol when he noticed the
bike in front of Big B's.
Driving without insurance
Chasite Thornton, of 1508
Houston Lake Rd., was stopped for
a tag violation at 2:02 p.m. on
Aug. 22 and upon request could not
provide proof of insurance. The
driver was then charged for driving a
vehicle with no insurance.
Theft by shoplifting
Curtis Butler, of 111 Creekwood
Dr., was arrested by police Aug. 22
after an employee of Piggly Wiggly
observed the man trying to leave
the 1211 Main St. store at 3:52
a.m. without paying for items.
